Plagiarism/copyvio[edit]

Hi! I had an alert that you have added some content that could be considered plagiarism and a copyright violation. A look at this edit shows that you have copied a lot of content from this article. While you did add the article as a source and you did mention at the beginning that they had written an article about this, the way you've added the content could still be seen as you passing it off as your own work since you didn't put any of it in quotation marks to show that it wasn't your wording.

However even if you had done this, the posted content would still be considered a potential copyright violation because there is too much material being quoted. This page has a general overview of what can be taken - usually only about 1-2 lines of content overall. The rest would have to be written in your own words.

I would recommend looking over the plagiarism tutorial again before progressing. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 13:33, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • I received another alert. Do not repost content that has been previously published elsewhere unless you are specifically quoting someone. You did this with one of the things you took from this journal article, but you did not with the other two pieces of content you posted. This is seen as plagiarism and a copyright violation. If you continue to do this, you run the risk of getting blocked from editing, which will almost certainly have a negative impact on your grade. I am also alerting your teacher Minotaurlives that this is your second time doing this, despite receiving a past warning. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 03:28, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I found something else that you had posted. Do not do this. You must look over the tutorial before progressing further and I will notify your teacher. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 04:37, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
