Information icon Hello, I'm Muhandes. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Lil Yachty, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. You are obviously not new here, so you know the drill - no unsourced material. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Behzinga. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Brojam (talk) 16:25, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "YeetaSkeeta", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it gives off the impression that you are not here to contribute to this encyclopedia.. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS17:59, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I believe my username is fine and does not violate a policy as it is a nickname of mine and I have seen other usernames on the site that "violate" the policy more than mine apparently does. Also the edits I make are all in good taste and do not violate any rules or the pages themselves (I'm not sure if you can view my edits but if you can then you will be able to see for yourself). Thank you. — User:YeetaSkeeta - 21:40, 20 February 2022 (GMT)

Edit summaries please

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Muhandes (talk) 00:23, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unexplained revert

[edit]

Hi there. Can you please explain why you reverted my edit? "Wrong" is already listed above as "Other charted songs", we don't list songs as "Guest appearances" if they are already listed under "As featured artist" or "Other charted songs". You did not leave an edit summary so I am in the dark. --Muhandes (talk) 00:26, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am aware "wrong" is already seen in "other charted songs" but I believe it should still be in guest appearances as that is what it is regardless of charting, if it isn't in guest appearances then that information isn't available on the Lil Mosey page. --YeetaSKeeta. 13:20 21 February 2022 (UTC)

There is very strong de facto consensus not to list songs twice in discographies. If a song is already listed as "As featured artist" or "Other charted songs" it should not be listed at "Guest appearances". Please remove the song from the guest appearances list. --Muhandes (talk) 14:33, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Can I ask why is wrong the only song in other charted songs? I'm fairly certain Mosey has had more songs chart then just his singles and one guest appearance (this could be incorrect but that's my take on it). So my POV is that because it is only "wrong" in this section then surely it should either be kept in the correct section of guest appearance as it is just adding an unnecessary table just for that one song. -- YeetaSkeeta 15:58 21 February 2022 (UTC)
You're right, someone put the sections in the wrong order so I missed it. I restored the full table to its right place and removed the duplicate "Wrong". This article is a huge mess. --Muhandes (talk) 21:14, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, at least it's a little bit cleaner now. My bad for duplicating "wrong" I'm still slightly new to this. --Yeeta Skeeta 00:21, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, as long as you are willing to learn you'll be fine. Feel free to ask any questions, I'm always happy to help new editors. --Muhandes (talk) 08:10, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate that. I have a question, I'm attempting to make a wiki page for "Deji" but my info box isn't correctly showing despite it not saying it has any errors, do you know what this issue could be? -- Yeeta Skeeta 14:02, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you mean the image, I corrected that. However, the article is a biography of a live person and it is considered completely unsourced so it would be deleted by anyone seeing it. Fandom and imdb are not reliable, see WP:FANDOM and WP:IMDB, I removed them entirely. All the rest are primary sources. I tagged the article, but seriously, any other editor will have gone for speedy deletion or worse, deletion process. Please don't waste the community's time - move the article back to draft space and work on it before going public. --Muhandes (talk) 15:50, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I came here from Yeeta's edit at Lil Durk discography and saw this discussion, and I must say I disagree. Just because a song charted (and is listed under "Other charted songs") does not mean it should be removed from the "Guest appearances" section, those are two different sections that provide distinct information - one shouldn't have to alternate between the sections to find which songs an artist/band contributed to; it's essentially leaving the "Guest appearances" section incomplete, and I find it presumptuous to think that all readers will know that guest appearances an artist contributed to that charted will be present in the "Other charted songs" section. Particularly if it is a large discography. I know this obviously applies to songs which are listed as singles, because they aren't "guest appearances". @Muhandes:, I've seen your work on the project and I highly admire all the work you put in and don't mean to question you, but could you please kindly point out said consensus you spoke of above? Or if this is the standard, then I must not be aware of it. AshMusique (talk) 17:46, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@AshMusique: As I said in my original sentence, all I claimed is that this is a de facto consensus, i.e., my impression based on the discographies I edited. Why not take it to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Discographies? --Muhandes (talk) 18:07, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, a much more reasonable place to start would be to help Draft:Deji Olatunji. Continuing with your version is not going to end well. --Muhandes (talk) 15:55, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I managed to sort out the box but thanks for fixing the image. But explain how "I'm wasting the community's time" I made a page for people to help and contribute to, if something is wrong then it can be corrected, I don't see the point in me having to make sure it is 100000000% correct before it can see the light of day, obviously stuff will be wrong and some sources may be a bit wrong or questionable but that's why there is a community to help fix that, which is what I do with other pages. Also I don't understand the reference system as I put the link into the the "cite" box and it's wrong? I don't understand that in the slightest. --Yeeta Skeeta 15:59, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct – indeed you don't understand. And the right thing to do is learn. I suggest you read WP:V and WP:RS if you want to understand why reliable sources are needed. HELP:CITE can help you learn how to create proper citations. I want to write more but I have to leave now, I am late with grading exams. I will add more later. --Muhandes (talk) 16:09, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I thought you want to learn, but you obviousloy don't. I offered my help, but you are uninterested so I will be moving elsewhere. Consider this another warning about adding unsourced information (your third warning). Have fun editing. --Muhandes (talk) 18:11, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me what? I added references like you said too onto the Deji page and the KSI page after you deleted my addition which now actually work and don't show any errors so explain how is that "uninterested". --Yeeta Skeeta 15:59, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In my estimate 99% of the article is still unsourced. As I already mentioned, YouTube videos are primary sources and are of very little value. This leaves maybe three sentences out of the entire BLP which are sourced. My advise was to try contributing to the existing draft but you ignored my warnings and then you ignored my advise. I take it you are not interested in them, and I was never one to overstay their welcome. Have fun editing. Muhandes (talk) 18:33, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I mean I had the sources which you deleted so it's not my problem. Instead of crying about it actual help me find sources and add to the page. --Yeeta Skeeta 18:40, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Can I say I told you so? Now this edit is really not smart and is considered vandalism. Please stop before it escalates. --Muhandes (talk) 18:41, 22 February 2022 (UTC) Muhandes (talk) 18:41, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=I was banned for "vandalising" however other users were vandalising my page so I took an immature route and vandalised them, I apologise for this however I wanted help and asked one editor to help me with the references which he didn't so I did it myself which was apparently wrong despite me doing what he said as he told me to delete previous sources despite them being the sources I gathered the information from so I didn't use them and then he said the information was 99% unsourced, so from my POV that isn't particularly my fault. I did what he asked and if that's incorrect then there should of been more communication. But I will move past this if unblocked and will continue to add to this page and try again. ~~~~}}.  Drmies (talk) 19:01, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • When you first edited this block template, you erred, and I reverted you, suggesting you read it again and do it correctly. I'm not going to revert you again, but unless you correct it, nothing will happen. Also, Deji (Youtuber) is entirely your work, so don't say that the unsourced character of the article isn't your doing. As for your cat and your fish, they should be under your control when editing Wikipedia. Drmies (talk) 02:42, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
