Image Upload Problems

Hi Magog, we're trying to upload several images to wikimedia commons and you tagged them for deletion for copyright infringement. We have permission to post these pictures in the form of an email, however we're just not sure how to add this to the image correctly to avoid image deletion (we're also new to wikipedia editing). Would you mind please letting us know how we can successfully upload the images?

For that, please read our documentation here: template:di-no permission-notice. It will give instructions on to whom you can forward that email notice. Importantly, the email must explicitly allow for commercial usage (as commercial entities do in fact make use of Wikipedia); it should not just say "you can upload these images to Wikipedia," as that isn't specific enough for us! So you can do is this: upload your image under the license given to you, send the email according to the instructions on that page, and then tag the file page with {{OTRS pending}} so everyone knows that we're in the process of verifying the license. Problems with upload of File:Acid-IR.png

Thanks for uploading File:Acid-IR.png. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
