Acne vulgaris

[edit]

Pleas note that I have reverted your edit to the acne vulgaris article. You had removed material sourced to recent research, and replaced it with material sourced to older research, apparently with the intent of promoting LED therapy. Per Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources (medicine) policy, this is clearly unacceptable. AndyTheGrump (talk) 16:35, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kristy,
Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for trying to improve the article. One of the things that's weird about Wikipedia for people with scientific training is that we prefer recent review articles and high-quality textbooks over peer-reviewed articles about original experiments. There's no way you could have known that we take pretty much the opposite approach compared to scientific journal articles, so don't feel bad about it. You might like reading Wikipedia:Ten Simple Rules for Editing Wikipedia. You should also feel free to bookmark Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine, where you'll find some great people who are happy to answer questions about improving medicine-related articles. (It's also just kind of fun to see what everyone else is working on, too.) WhatamIdoing (talk) 17:38, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the information WhatamIdoing, much appreciated. I apologize for the rookie mistake. I'm definitely going to take a look at the Project Medicine link to see what we can help to add.
