-Bender the robot 7 (talk) 17:22, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The New Voice of Ukraine[edit]

@Yasnodark I was not very interested in doing this... But luckily for you F1 Anton did it by creating NV.ua ;). You are extra luck since F1 Anton was blocked from editing 6 days later.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 15:10, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Precious[edit]

voice of Ukraine

Thank you for quality articles about Ukraine and its people such as Oleh Barna, Denys Monastyrsky, Yulia Tymoshenko and Lyudmyla Denisova, for updating related articles, with exquisite edit summaries, for having Ukraine on your user page since 2007. - Yulia, you are an awesome Wikipedian!

You are recipient no. 2846 of Precious, a prize of QAI. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:57, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @Gerda Arendt:. I always try my best to make quality articles... But this is also why I this year have scaled back my activities on Wikipedia to only maintaining articles that I think should be in a good shape. I am getting more and more annoyed by other editors being to lazy or to stupid to not see that an article needs consistency in its style of writing.... I am fed up with editors only updating the lead and not the body of the article or making other simple Wikipedia:Lead dos and don'ts errors or having to fix date consistency and other (in my opinion simple) Wikipedia:Manual of Style-issues... I can not help to think that the quality of editors was a lot better in 2007, or that editors these days can not see any further than the sentence that they are editing... (instead of looking at the big picture (the whole Wikipedia article)). Obviously me getting annoyed is why I am not enjoying editing Wikipedia as much as I used too...... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 15:00, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Pustovoitenko government[edit]

Hi

Did you know the composition of parliamentary coalition? Panam2014 (talk) 15:26, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

And for Fokin government we have 2 compositions for 1990! Panam2014 (talk) 08:07, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Panam2014, I am sorry; I could not find information on this.... Mabey it can be found in a (Ukrainian) newspaper archive I have no access too... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 22:18, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Conspiracy theory[edit]

Ukraine[edit]

Hi

Are governors of Ukrainians Oblasts appointed by president according to election's results? And does oblast have local government? Panam2014 (talk) 10:23, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Governors of Ukrainians Oblasts are directly appointed by the President on a recommendation of the Cabinet of Ministers (so no local Governor elections are held). As far as I understood after local oblast election a coalition in local parliament is formed.... But I never heard of an oblast government... I checked the website of Zakarpattia Oblast and it does seem to have some sort of government of Head and Deputy heads (of the regional state administration)... but how these people got to these positions I don't know.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 20:54, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I have a request for you. Would we have the opportunity to create an article for the upcoming Local Council of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine? This is the first Local Council of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine since the time of the Unification council of the Eastern Orthodox churches of Ukraine. Perhaps, as you have heard, a historic decision regarding the synchronization of the liturgical and civil calendars (t.i., the adoption [uk] of the Revised Julian calendar) will be approved at it. 46.211.155.176 (talk) 17:07, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I am not interested in working on such an article. I have been editing Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) in the past in an attempt to comprehend their behaviour. I have no questions about the behaviour of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, so/and I am not willing to invest my time in researching them. Of course you are free to create any article you want on Wikipedia and this article you suggest to create I think will not be in danger of deleting per wp:notably. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 12:20, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Place of birth[edit]

In bios, when a place of birth is in text, if the RSs discuss briefly context as to the place of birth when they discuss person x, a wp article on person x can certainly reflect the RSs and do the same. It's always a good idea to follow the RSs in such matters, much as we do with GNG. 2603:7000:2101:AA00:F511:B3CE:AF08:DA96 (talk) 01:14, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I also know some Wikipedia regulations and they say that the Ukrainian city Odesa is spelled Odesa on English Wikipedia (to reflect common English usage & for consistency within Wikipedia + the article on Odesa (see also Talk:Odesa/Archive_2#Requested_move_11_July_2022); something that you did not do, you used the russian name Odessa. Besides disliking russian trolls (which you are obviously not) I strongly dislike people who are russifying names of Ukrainian cities The fact that russia is bombing these cities makes my dislike only stronger. Your message above suggests that you want to hear that you are right about something... but I have proven here above that you do not have the full knowledge of English Wikipedia regulations.... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 12:57, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PS What are RSs and GNG? You communicated to me as if I am a Wikipedia administrator.... I am just a hobbyist who is not fully aware of all Wikipedia guidelines. I suggest you stop believing that everyone knows just as much as you about Wikipedia guidelines for creating more useful interactions. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 12:57, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

August 2023[edit]

Information icon Hi Yulia Romero! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Kj cheetham (talk) 21:22, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing this out to me Kj cheetham; I have been interpreting "Minor edit" as being a small edit; but the definition you used above is better and I will be using that now. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 11:54, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

WP:UBCR concern[edit]

Hi!

I noticed that User:Yulia Romero/Userbox/onlytouristspeakrussian seems to technically be "inflammatory".

Consider what would likely happen if a user were to create a userbox that said "This user supports an America where only tourists speak Spanish". (Of course, this isn’t a perfect analogy, but it illustrates the problem.)

RadioactiveBoulevardier (talk) 07:43, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you RadioactiveBoulevardier that the text of the userbox was not appropriate. I moved the userbox to User:Yulia Romero/Userbox/Thisuserdoesnotconsiderrussiananindigenouslanguageofukraine and I already had the old userbox deleted (to remove unnecessary databasespace (I just created a new word I think... but I can not remember a more common wording right now....) and to be sure all "potential inflammatory" is now gone... I can not water down the text anymore, it would loss all meaning then... The point I am trying to make with the userbox is that russian is a foreign imposed language in Ukraine (aggressively promoted in ussr and tsarist times as a vehicle for justifying a russian takeover of Ukrainian land): the text "Ukraine is not russia" does have another meaning. Of course native American tribes did not speak Spanish nor English..... But English is not used in America now to justify a takeover of land that now belongs to English speakers.... There is not an anti-Spanish language movement in the USA (as far as I know...). — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 16:42, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That’s a great rewording you came up with 👍 Keep calm and keep editing, RadioactiveBoulevardier (talk) 17:53, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello![edit]

Hi, Yulia Romero! Its been awhile (in fact, years) since we previously exchanged messages; it was mostly about our shared view on Yulia Tymoshenko, and some other related topics. How the things are? I hope that you are well, and that your semi-retired status won't turn into a permanent one. Stay around, and contribute when you can. Cheers! — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 18:12, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your kind words Sundostund. I am fine and hope you are doing great too, but I still am not as passionate about editing as I was before I cut down on my editing on 17 June 2023. I still like to do some small editing on things I would like to see in Wikipedia (it seems a few times every week...). But I do not think I will get back to creating new articles. Best of luck with your editing of Wikipedia.
PS This was not the fastest response you ever got on Wikipedia I hope....Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 22:01, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please, don't worry about how fast your response was! The important thing is that you are fine; luckily, I can say the same about myself, and my work around here. Anyway, I really hope that you will reconsider your decision to cut down on editing, and return to somewhat more active work (especially on Ukraine-related articles). It doesn't have to involve some substantial editing, or creating new articles. I myself usually alternate between purely small/cosmetical editing, before returning to more substantial work; also, sometimes I don't create a new article for like six months. But, of course, you are free to do as you wish! Trust me, I know how ungrateful/futile it can seem to invest time in working here, at times... I hope that you will have the best of luck both in real life, and on Wikipedia! Cheers! — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 09:17, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the fact that for a while I constantly came across lead section's of articles that included significant information that then was not covered outside of the lead did annoy me for a while (and I still don't understand why that happens, do some editors really believe that nobody reads an entire article?). But I got over that
I also hope that you will have the best of luck both in real life, and on Wikipedia! — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 20:49, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
