Image copyright[edit]

Hi! I saw that several of the images you uploaded lacked information such as the image's copyright status, who created it, or where it was taken from. This information is vital and all of the images are currently tagged for deletion for incomplete information. I would like for you to review the training module on uploading images and media and to update the images with the proper information. Keep in mind with images, however, that the image must be clearly marked as falling into the public domain or was released under a compatible Creative Commons license. If there's nothing on the image that marks it as such, it should not be uploaded.

Also, I noticed that the article you created, The Story of Stone has some issues with sourcing and tone. Make sure that your article is not written with a specific viewpoint or opinion, as the article should not come across like it's arguing for a specific stance on things or contain value statements. Several of the claims in the article are also unsourced, so the article also needs more sourcing to back up claims, as unsourced claims can come across as original research and a personal interpretation. For example, the following sentence would be seen as a personal opinion and subjective to the reader in its current state, as it's unsourced:

What is the most tragic is these characters lived a glorious life within the mansion are doomed to fall into their own inescapable fates and face the dirty and evilness of the outside real world.

The issue here is that since it's unsourced, it comes across as a personal interpretation of the story. On Wikipedia we can only summarize what has already been stated in reliable sources - we can't synthesize new work.

I hope that this helps! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 13:26, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thanks for your suggestion. I will delete the personal statements. Actually I want to delete the images I uploaded on wikimedia commons. I will appreciate if you help me delete them.thanks a lot! Yuqian Qin (talk) 16:11, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi! No problem - as far as the images go, they should be deleted in a few days on their own so you don't have to worry about those. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:12, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shalor, I still don't know how to add related articles (introduce links to related articles) and add categories in my sandbox. Also i cannot move the newly edited version of my sandbox to Wikipedia because the page says the article name has already existed. What should i do ? A page you started (The Story of Stone) has been reviewed![edit]

Thanks for creating The Story of Stone.

I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process.

Thank you for your new article on "The Story of Stone". You must explain the difference between that title and "Dream of the Red Chamber" because you use those two titles interchangeably. Also note that the article is an "Orphan" meaning that no other Wikipedia articles link TO it. That makes the article difficult to find for readers. See WP:DE-ORPHAN for pointers.

To reply, leave a comment here and ping me.

Hi, thanks for your reviewing. I wonder how to add the article link to this article. I am looking forward to your respond. Thanks. Yuqian Qin (talk) 15:46, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm also concerned with this as well - I would actually suggest merging any content that is missing from the main article and then redirect to Dream of the Red Chamber since both articles are on the same topic. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 22:07, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
