Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto[edit]

Hi, I deleted the image of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto because it was a copyright violation. The uploader of that image stated that he made that image but that wasn't the case and therefore he couldn't release it under a free content license. Note that Wikipedia only accepts images under a free content license and sometimes under the fair use criteria. See Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria. Do you have an image of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto on your computer of which you own the copyright? Garion96 (talk) 13:56, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since it's a photo of a painting, it does not mean you own the copyright to it. See derivative work. However since it is photo of a deceased person it will pass the non-free content criteria even if it is not free content. Which image is better quality? The image I deleted or the image you have? Otherwise I can undelete the image and change it to a non-free content image. Or you can upload your image and I can fix it accordingly. Also, you placed your comment on my user page Garion96. For comments you can use my talk page at (talk), that way I get a warning a new message is there. The yellow bar. Garion96 (talk) 20:26, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. So what exactly are your intentions editing this page? Last week, you reverted it to a version that was displayed on the Main Page back in 2004.[1] Then a few hours ago, you moved all the events that were listed in the hidden "Preset options" area to the Main Area.[2] Only 5-6 events are listed at a time due to the limited space on the Main Page. If you are wondering, the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto article was hidden back in April because it was, and currently is now, tagged that its the factual accuracy is disputed. For more information, please read the selected anniversaries guidelines. Cheers. Zzyzx11 (talk) 14:59, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

You have been temporarily blocked for your disruptive editing at Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/April 4. Did you actually read the guideline which User:Zzyzx11 suggested above? --BorgQueen (talk) 15:23, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Now that you have been blocked by BorgQueen, please take time to read the guidelines on Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries. I want to specifically mention the following points:
  1. Due to the limited space on the Main Page, only 5-6 events are posted at a time. As a result, not everything that is MOST significant or notable can be visible at the same time.
  2. A list of preset events are made invisible to viewers by use of the <!-- TEXT --> markup code. Some of these items can be used as backups that can be rotated in and out during the day while on the Main Page. Other items are hidden because they no longer pass the selected anniversaries criteria.
  3. Each event listed on these pages includes a selected article (the article whose link is in bold). These articles preferably should be relatively complete and well-formatted articles – free from cleanup or dispute issues.
  4. The Zulfikar Ali Bhutto article – the selected, bolded article for that event – was hidden back in April because the entire page was, and currently is now, tagged that its the factual accuracy is disputed. The "factual accuracy is disputed" message at the top of the article indicates that the entire article may be under dispute, not just the issue concerning the date of Bhutto's execution. You may find a reference/source for his execution, but that does not necessarily mean that all disputed issues are resolved.
  5. Also, the selected anniversaries pages, and in fact the entire Main Page, do not generally have footnotes. All content on the Main Page is based on the supporting bolded articles, and defers to them when there is disagreement, so it is best to achieve consensus and make any necessary changes there first.

China Pakistan edits[edit]

Thanks for these recent edits, it is not necessary to link to every occurrence of the countries names, the first will suffice. Rich Farmbrough, 15:16, 31 July 2009 (UTC).[reply]
