{{helpme}} Hello, I am fairly new to Wikipedia, and was wondering, how can I can I have a page for userboxes I create? I only ask because I hand-made two userboxes for my page and used logos in them, but a bot came onto my page and removed them. I have created this page in case anyone wants to use boxes I make. Thanks for any help! --ZLMedia (talk) 20:17, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You cannot use logos on your userpage, only free images. Other than that, just put them on your userpage.  fetchcomms 20:20, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thanks for the info. :-) --ZLMedia (talk) 22:57, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:ArmwoodLogo.svg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  fetchcomms 20:21, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for deleting this, kinda my fault for being new to rendering SVGs and uploading them right away. =\ --ZLMedia (talk) 22:57, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Ahslogo.svg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Ahslogo.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.
  • To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=DASHBot}} to your talk page.
  • If you believe the bot has made an error, please turn it off here and leave a message on my owner's talk page.

Thank you. DASHBot (talk) 23:51, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:ArmwoodLogo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:ArmwoodLogo.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:53, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Editing War Issue[edit]

{{helpme}} Hello, I am having issues with another Wikipedian who is not corresponding to any changes made by me to the Weather Star XL article. I have written on this user's talk page to cite a source on the edit that I revert by this person and he reverts mine back without citing a source on the effected article and deletes the post I made on his talk page. I saw Wikipedia:Edit_war and from what I see, if a user reverts edits 3 times that the Three-revert rule goes into effect in a 24-hour period. I am sorry if you cannot handle this situation, but I find the reverted edits by him to be misleading info because it is not proven in the resource of what the cable provider this Weather Star XL unit is provided by. I have reverted this edit and it was reverted back in this edit. The same situation occurs here and here; then once more here and here. Thanks again if anything can be done. ZLMedia (talk) 00:05, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If he has reverted you more than 3 times in 24 hours, go to this noticeboard, and I would start a message on the article talk page, and determine consensus for what should be in the page. fetch·comms 00:09, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please delete the image ASAP if you can, it was a fluke on my end with the SVG. Thanks. ZLMedia (talk) 14:16, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

SVGs[edit]

Hello there... I am in need of some advise/tips for those that contribute images and such in the SVG format.. My program of choice is Inkscape. I was wanting to know, when I want to trace a bitmap image to become a vector graphic, would I have to manually-trace all the elements, or could I use the Trace Bitmap tool (Alt+Shift+B)? (basically, what are your recommendations?) I apologize if this does not need a help me tag, but any advice can be appreciated! -ZLMedia 20:49, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll leave this here - an SVG person might come along. But, you might also ask on Wikipedia:SVG Help, or Commons:Commons:Graphics village pump. Those don't look very highly-monitored though, unfortunately. So, maybe hitting WP:HD would be best. You could always try the latter, and give it a couple of days, see if you get a response.  Chzz  ►  21:53, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What a coincidence, I just traced my first SVG earlier today. I suggest not using the trace bitmap tool, but rather using the Bezier curve tool. Hope this helps, --Σ talkcontribs 03:37, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much! I will try that. :-) -ZLMedia 06:13, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You could also pop into #wikimedia-commons and ask for assistance there. A lot of users there are pretty proficient with SVG and would be better equipped to answer your questions on that one. While I don't speak for all of us, I have little experience with SVG so commons may be the best place to ask. Steven Zhang The clock is ticking.... 03:51, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. However, I noticed that your username (ZLMedia) may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it sounds like a company name; forgive me if I am wrong. See WP:CORPNAME If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account to use for editing. Thank you. Chzz  ►  00:51, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. I did not have intentions to sound like a corporation of sorts, but the only reason I chose this username, was because it is a shortened version of my username on Youtube, which contains my first name, so I decided to shorten it for privacy reasons on Wikipedia. I apologize if you though I was mocking the name of a corporation, but I am not. If you would like for me to request a name change, I will do so. Thanks for the concern. -ZLMedia 01:03, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Weather Star 4000[edit]

It was moreso the Products page that was written like an advertisement. I was just cleaning up the article a bit, as I thought it was way too cluttered, and was totaling to almost 50,000 kb of space. If you think the flavor section should at least be brought back I can do that... might do some cleanup on that part first though. MikeM2011 (talk) 12:27, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

April 2012[edit]

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to IntelliStar‎‎, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Fleet Command (talk) 07:49, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Weather Star 4000.[edit]

I saw your comments on the Weather Star 4000 talk page and I answered your question there and I also left some ideas about things you can help me with on the article so go to the talk page of Weather Star 4000 and tell me what you think. Also do you have a YouTube channel about Weather Star 4000 or anything like that? If you do I would like to subscribe to your videos. Thanks! --BeckiGreen (talk) 04:43, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Presistent Reverting of Edits by an IP Address[edit]

Hello, I am not sure on how to handle this, but there is an IP address editing certain articles that I watch, and I keep having to revert their edits due to lack of citation per WP:CITE. The IP has reverted several edits that I have undone/reverted to their own revision, but still does not comply with WP:CITE. The user has also added speculative information which I reverted per WP:SPECULATION, but I am unsure if the IP address' edits constitutes as vandalism. I am also unsure if the edits/reverts qualify under WP:3RR due to the edits not occurring all within a 24-hour period. I have also notified the user via their talk page, and the user still does not take notice of the warnings. Articles in question include: List of personalities on The Weather Channel, Weekend View and Weekend Now. Is there anything else I can do on my part to make sure that no more vandalism occurs from this user? Thanks. --ZLMedia 20:42, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done warned for edit warring. If it continues, just drop me a note and I'll look into page protection and sanctions. Mdann52 (talk) 20:54, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you I will keep an eye out for this user for sure. --ZLMedia 20:58, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
FYI, I have just rolled back about 10 consecutive edits - Can you sort this issue out how you see fit. Mdann52 (talk) 20:00, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am going to report this IP address to administrators. I've tried doing it twice in the past already, but based on the recent edits you reverted, I certainly think it's worth reporting this time around for (hopefully) a valid reason by admins. --ZLMedia 22:15, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

First Outlook[edit]

Hi. I have reverted your edit to the First Outlook article per WP:OVERTAGGING. Bear in mind that the source for television show articles can be the work itself which it seems to be in this case. Further, I didn't see an issue with "tone" or "undue weight". I also didn't see any content that resembled a fansite. The page also doesn't sound like an advert at all - in fact, it simply sounds like a page that describes a television show which is exactly what it should be. Lastly, if you slap a "factual accuracy disputed" tag on a page, I believe you're suppose to at least leave an explanation on the article's talk page to explain what you find to be false or inaccurate. Otherwise, no one knows why the tag is there or what to fix. Same goes for a number of the tags you slapped on without so much as an edit summary. If you feel these issues actually are present, please take your concerns to the talk page for those of us who actually fix issues instead of just drive-by tagging. Thanks. Pinkadelica 04:40, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That is understandable, however, I added some research tags back due to the factor that the only reference is a Youtube video. --ZLMedia 04:47, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your CVU Trainer[edit]

Hello,
My name is Tito. I have been appointed as your WP:CVU trainer. We'll start our discussions very soon. Nice to met you! --Tito Dutta 00:39, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

thumbs up Great! Looking forward to the training! --ZLMedia 00:50, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
First, have a look at this page. --Tito Dutta 01:11, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Inform me when you are ready to start! You can also post her and keep this page in watchlist User:Titodutta/CVU/Students/ZLMedia I have noticed you have faced 1-2 image file related issues. We can discuss on this too during our conversation!--Tito Dutta 11:35, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm ready whenever all possible. However, I start up school next week, is that going to cause any concerns? Though I will try my best to stay away from any form of large inactivity, but may just become limited on time. --ZLMedia 13:08, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No problem about day or timing or inactivity. You can start or continue anytime you want. --Tito Dutta 13:12, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
