Sonic 4 content dispute

[edit]

Hey again. Looks like we're arguing about Sonic 4 again. I really think it would benefit you if you read up on some of Wikipedia's major policies. You're not just writing random stuff on a Sonic fansite or blogs. Here on Wikipedia, you need things like:

In short, if you start following these policies more-so, you'll see that your contribution will stick a lot more often. If you got questions, feel free to bring it up on my talk page, or the article talk page. Thanks! Sergecross73 msg me 01:53, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also, you'll note that it's not just me who's undoing all of your work. For instance, your edit at Harold Camping was instantly undone because you didn't provide a source. Sergecross73 msg me 01:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Zagurzem: OK, let me get things straightened out here (again, LOL), the reason why I said Little Planet is returning over Never Lake is because in both the original (1993) and rereleased (2011) Sonic CD instructions, it said that every year the planet appears over Never Lake. I would assume that in Sonic 4, it would appear over that same lake again. The main reason Sega rereleased Sonic CD a few months ago was because plotwise, Episode II is a sequel to CD. More evidence: if you look at [image] of Never Lake, and compare it to the lake on the Episode II [[[url=http://sonic.wikia.com/wiki/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_4:_Episode_II/Gallery?image=S4ep2_mp1-png][img]http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120422050530/sonic/images/7/77/S4ep2_mp1.png[/img|world map]], you will notice that the two lakes are very similar in shape. Also, look where Little Planet (which is being covered by the Death Egg II) is on the map : right over the lake. It is safe to say that this is Never Lake. Nice detail Sega!

See, this is why I'm saying you should read up on wikipedia policy. You can't "assume" things, and you can't jump to conclusions based on your personal observations of small details. That counts as original research. Furthermore, "wikia" is not a useable source, it fails WP:SPS. You need to learn what reliable sources are, and use them to prove your points, not just random observations and images from wikia. Sergecross73 msg me 17:36, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry about all this, all I wanted to do was provide good information.

It's okay, I just wish you would discuss things when your work is undone, rather than just reinstating it over and over again. Read WP:BRD - basically, the general flow is to edit, and if that edit is challenged or removed ("reverted") then you go to a discussion page, either for the article Sonic 4 or the user's personal talk page. If you did that moreso, you'd probably learn more about how Wikipedia works. Sergecross73 msg me 19:18, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Zagurzem: BTW, I know the game was leaked and all recently, but can I put the plot for Episode Metal and II up when they come out on the 15th?

Yes, plot doesn't typically require sources once it's released, again, unless a particular part of the plot is being challenged by others. However, it needs to be kept short, considering it's not a plot-heavy type game. It's a Sonic platformer, not Final Fantasy 13 or Mass Effect. Sergecross73 msg me 14:05, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'll keep it as short as I can, but it'll definitely be more plot heavy than a typical Super Mario game!

Well, I'm not sure how "definite" that is, but I'll be around to trim it down if it gets too detailed too. I'd support merging of plots as well, just as long as it stated that the Metal plot points come from Metal in a sentence or something. Sergecross73 msg me 13:29, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I just meant, if you delete a subsection that says "Episode Metal", then the first sentence regarding Espisode Metal should probably start off something like "In Episode Metal, event X happens to person Y", subbing in actual plot points for the X and Y stuff. Sergecross73 msg me 16:14, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so I can't help but notice that you said you were going to Merge sections, and then you just went and deleted the subsection outright. Merging would including some combining of information, not just deleting it. It's one of the few things that actually does deserve to be mentioned, because it's sourced, it just doesn't necessarily need it's own subsection. Sergecross73 msg me 16:23, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:S4 top logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the file is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Яehevkor 18:27, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sonic 4 image dispute (2)

[edit]

I've started a new discussion at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Video_games#Sonic_4_and_images since there aren't many editors, especially experienced ones, that frequently vist the Sonic 4 talk page currently. Feel free to chime in. Sergecross73 msg me 20:49, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Offical "box art" design for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Episode 1.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Offical "box art" design for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Episode 1.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:15, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sonic CD/Sonic series template

[edit]

Thank you for putting Sonic CD back in the "main series" in the template. I don't believe it's a spinoff either. There is currently a discussion going on whether or not Sonic CD belong in the "main series" or "spinoff series", and another user prematurely moved it without consensus. There's currently a discussion going on at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:Sonic_games#Sonic_CD_is_part_of_the_main_series.3F -- feel free to join in if you want. Thanks! Sergecross73 msg me 12:43, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'll respond here, so the Sonic CD/template discussion doesn't go off topic: I like both of your new pictures for Sonic 4 Ep 1 and 2. Good find. Ultimately, I think they are the best choice, unless there is some obscure Wikipedia image policy I'm not aware of that prevents they're use... Sergecross73 msg me 18:27, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cartoon Planet, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 2000s (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Page blanking

[edit]

Surely you know better than this. As the HTML comment made clear, you may be blocked from editing if you do this again.--Jasper Deng (talk) 01:24, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Really, do stop. You already have a rather substantial editing career and I do not want to have to report you to administrators.--Jasper Deng (talk) 01:28, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
