Goldsmithing
[edit]How do you smithe gold? 201.23.64.2 01:20, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
The way most goldsmiths do: I use a saw, hammer, pliers, torch, etc. to shape sheet and wire into components and assemble the components into jewelry. Is this what you were asking? My preferred style is to fabricate understated handmade settings for unique and rare high quality gemstones.Zandrous 16:12, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Your question

- I must admit that I'm perplexed as to what qualification is needed to quote a statement from a published study. As for other criticism, the Fleiss paper seems to have attracted little attention. In addition to my letter, two papers spring to mind.
- Halperin and Bailey (1999) describe the paper as a whole as "fierce resistance" to the "association between lack of male circumcision and HIV transmission."
- Siegfried et al (2003) remark: "In direct contradiction to the above theory, the inner prepuce contains apocrine glands which secrete lysozyme (Fleiss 98)." (I know, not according to Taylor, nor Parkash for that matter, but anyway they continue...) "Lysozyme reportedly kills HIV-1 in vitro (Lee-Huang 99), suggesting a protective effect of the foreskin. As the study of the immunological function of the prepuce is not well-developed (Cold 99), caution must be observed when assuming in vitro viral behaviour is equivalent in vivo. In a recent study that used immunofluorescence and image analysis to quantify cells expressing HIV-1 co-receptors, adult foreskin mucosa had greater susceptibility to infection than cervical mucosa or the external surface of the foreskin tissue (Patterson 02)."

[edit]at Talk:Circumcision#Article too long?: Maybe you're thinking of disambiguation pages. What I/we are trying to do is more like what is described at WP:SUMMARY. The article will have shorter sections, and also links to other articles. The current plan is probably not going to make it as short as it really should be, but shorter than it is now, so an improvement I think. --Coppertwig 17:20, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
