Orphaned non-free image (Image:Kidchronocrossfmv.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kidchronocrossfmv.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. MER-C 08:22, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Peppermint[edit]

Thanks so much for the pictures you added to the Jerry Haynes article! I've had fun developing that article, but pictures do so much and it's not easy to find public domain or other appropriate images to use. It'd be great to be able to see that parade sometime. Command & Conquer task force participation[edit]

So, you are still active on Wikipedia in general, at least. I am someone who has recently added himself to the C&C task force, and I have begun doing a lot of work on articles related to the Tiberium series in particular. What I find a bit puzzling, however, is that you apparently are the person who has been largely responsible for the Frank Klepacki article reaching FA status, yet you haven't ever seem to have listed yourself as a member of this task force.

Since I assumed that this may well have had something to do with the fact that the C&C tf was essentially comatose for a period of several months, I thought I'd shoot you this message as a reminder that we're back alive and kicking. The edits that I take the most pride in thus far are on the Brotherhood of Nod article. At any rate, I hope to see you become active with us again. I have the intention of seeing more C&C related articles make the front page of Wikipedia someday, and since you have set the sole precedent for this, your renewed participation and input would be very welcome. Kalamrir (talk) 23:21, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

These issues have been addressed by me. Read up on the C&C task force discussion page sometime for the precise details of it all. Kalamrir (talk) 23:38, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your revert to Chrono Trigger[edit]

My Apologies; I was under the impression that Chrono Trigger was tagged as having a plot summary that was too long. Had I known that you had taken care of it, I would have let it be. Again, sorry. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 06:16, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your understanding. I should probably watch for major changes like this from now on. I was unaware that this went from Start class to Featured between now and November 2007 . Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 06:35, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chronotrigger[edit]

Just so you know - I was planning on scheduling Chrono-trigger tomorrow, but given the hub-bub over the Oblivion FA recently - and the fact that I'm killing the problem my starving it of fuel - I think having Chrono Trigger on tomorrow would be counterproductive. So I'm not going to schedule chrono-trigger for tomorrow, but I'll use it in the near future (the next 1-3 months). Raul654 (talk) 08:37, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Further proof that a lot of editors have a strong bias against us, Zeality. We had a good push. Do you want to do it in the next few months or do you want to have it wait until August? I'm leaning towards August, and we could ask Raul to reserve that day for CT. What do you think? Also, I have something non-Wikipeda related coming up that I think you'll enjoy. --Sir Crazyswordsman 14:19, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that answers one question: I was curious as to why Chrono Trigger wasn't on the main page. Sorry to see that it came to this, but I guess people just have a hard time dealing with diversity here. FWIW, I would add it to the long range request page and see about getting back up on on this date next year. IMO, a mainpage appearence is more or less meaningless if the article in question has no association with the day. TomStar81 (Talk) 01:02, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chrono Trigger endings[edit]

Hey Zeality, I read the endings link topic on the CT talk page. The link was deleted because it's already listed as a reference, not because it was unnecessary. Also, that link is about ending descriptions (text format), this link is about ending screenshots, which is much more pleasurable to the eyes and thus, a valuable link ;) —Preceding unsigned comment added by ReyVGM (talkcontribs) 01:12, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am hearing people speak of how it really shouldn't be a GA...I think it was a GA but has slipped below standards as they have kept going up. I added a reception section a month or two ago, and that could use some expanding. I just wanted to let you know if you were interested in helping preserve the Chrono topic :) Judgesurreal777 (talk) 21:38, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Frank Klepacki issues[edit]

The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest FA?[edit]

Could I prod you to nominate The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest for FA status. It got a raw deal last time but it really is one of the best articles around here: thoroughly researched and has a masterful command of the subject. --maclean 03:52, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chrono Trigger FAR[edit]

I have nominated Chrono Trigger for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. Proposed deletion of Keita Kawaminami[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Keita Kawaminami, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No indication of notability; no sources.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Replaceable fair use Image:Homecookin.png[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Homecookin.png. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Stifle (talk) 16:53, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of EverAnime[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article EverAnime, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable "bootleg" company. Sole reference is from an anime FAQ (not a reliable source). Fails WP:CORP and WP:V.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Chrono Compendium[edit]

There is general support for CC as a lexicon of anything in the game(s) (as long as it isn't an error, which is possible since mistakes happen). Beyond that though anything else needs to be sourced to the original author since no reliable source has said they are reliable.じんない 00:57, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you're in contact with the site's staff, you might suggest that they add some sources for their stuff. I think that is the only problem some people seem to have since it hasn't been listed as reliable by SE or featured in a gaming magazine.じんない 05:50, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say see about getting your site reviewed by Gamespot or ign.com or Gamespy. Given the recent releaase of CT DS, it may be a good time to do it. That would go a long way to removing the contriversy about the site if other reliable sources find CC reliable.じんない 06:22, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes[edit]

Dude, that SUCKS. I'm sorry to hear about SE C&Ding you so close to the end. My condolences. --PresN 05:39, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I'd have to see the sources, but that sounds like enough to make a stand-alone article. Maybe not good enough sources for FA, but maybe GA in a pinch. --PresN 16:35, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest[edit]

There is some hostility to usenet postings being used in reference sections of FAs. While they may be valuable for the archives of Questfan, WP (and more specifically, FAs) has a different focus. I have been bold and removed some bits: some added little [1] [2] [3] to the article anyways, some were not totally necessary to meet the FA criteria of comprehensive [4]. Please review them individually and undo any you feel necessary. Also, note this has changed some of the numbering at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest/archive2. --maclean 19:52, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would go with preemptive measures. For example, items like "...featuring off-screen deaths of villains and allies.[37][38]" - has two cites (one to an AOL Quest newsgroup commentary and one to a newspaper) if it can use only the newspaper source, then skip the other. Items like "Completed episode scripts numbered roughly thirty-five pages each" are probably unnecessary. maclean 22:43, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Peer reviews and WP:CIVIL[edit]

  1. You already know the problems with the article from FAC. Peer review is not typically a place to find copy editors - have you tried asking at WP:PR/V (bottom section)?
  2. I pasted in the same text for you as I have for every other person whose PR I have archived for being opened less than 2 weeks after the FAC closed, i.e.:
Please read the peer review directions more carefully. Articles that have had an unsuccessful FAC have to wait two weeks (14 days) before they are submitted to Peer Review. The thought is that the FAC should have many comments for improvement and these should all be thoroughly addressed BEFORE submitting to peer review. Since the FAC is a very detailed review (I checked), it is a waste of scarce PR resources to peer review this in its curent state. Sorry, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 04:16, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  3. The edit summary was "closing per PR instructions, wait 2 weeks after failed FAC and FIX the things brought up there first (AKA read the directions))", see diff
  4. Please read WP:NPA and do not presume to put false quotations from me on my talk page, i.e. Congratulations on further stalling this article's improvement and being a model of WP:CIVIL with your incorrect cry of "read the fucking manual."
  5. I agree five fair use images violates WP:NFCC

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

I don't know the english Wikipedia good enough to tell you that. However, I contacted Frank once before on my own because I wanted to know if he also cares about the soundtrack to Tiberium (that CnC Egoshooter which will never be developed) and how much he does for RA3. I don't think that Mr. Klepacki won't allow us to use that files (may not under PD but nevertheless under a free licence) if he is can (is allowed to) give us the permission for these files.
May we can persuade Mr. Klepacki so that he uploads some self-made files on his own... but first we should get a ticket for that files.

Glad to help. We can always use more reviewer help at PR. If at any time you see anything in the backlog that looks interesting, your comments will be appreciated by the other reviewers for sure and usually by the nominator(s). Finetooth (talk) 18:16, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Zeality! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 940 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Etsunobu Ebisu - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Shigeharu Umezaki - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  3. Etsuyo Ota - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

HBATSC copyedit[edit]

The Copyeditor's Barnstar
I'm awarding you this barnstar for an absolutely brilliant copyedit on His Band and the Street Choir. I can now renominate it for FAC. Thankyou very much  Kitchen Roll  (Exchange words) 10:17, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sonic[edit]

Thanks for so readily offering your copyedit services. I can take the article to FAC that much faster. Tezero (talk) 13:41, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Lara Croft[edit]

Thank you for the copy edit. I think once the article is finished, it could stand a chance to be FA. In regard to your notes:

  • I was unsure if "she" would be appropriate since Lara Croft is fictional. So I aired on the side of caution assuming someone might change it eventually.
  • The way I read the whole believability vs realism thing was that there is what is realistic and then there is what people will believe is realistic. Maybe a character can jump a little high, run a little faster, or whatever a little better than a real person.

Thanks again. And good luck with The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest at FAC. It's always nice to see articles that remind me of my youth provide such in-depth information. (Guyinblack25 talk 14:46, 14 June 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Yanagisawa everest beyond the limit.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Yanagisawa everest beyond the limit.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Terrillja talk 16:13, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

FAC[edit]

I urge you to tone down your response to FN at your nomination page. Civil comments about his comments are obviously fine, but comments about him that border on personal attacks don't belong there. --Andy Walsh (talk) 16:42, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, let me put it another way. Your remarks about other editors are irrelevant to the FAC process. Make all the impolite remarks you like, but please don't clog the FAC page with them. --Andy Walsh (talk) 19:10, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's always the trick. Some types of articles just don't seem to generate reviews for some reason. One guy had a pretty interesting article about a flag sit at FAC for a month with only one or two substantive reviews, and no support. Is there a relevant WikiProject that you work in? Like for TV or animation? You might announce that you have an article up for FA and ask for reviews. Just let them know that they should mind the FA criteria and not just drive by and support. If you go through the FAC list and review a few, I'm sure you'll generate some goodwill from those nominators and you could probably ping them to give you a review. --Andy Walsh (talk) 04:13, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edge[edit]

Haven't forgotten. Will try and get it sorted this weekend. - X201 (talk) 09:05, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Its only a small section but here it is:
With hindsight, its arguable that Edge was a little harsh in awarding four out of ten to Anachronox. A ambitious labour of love for industry veteran Tom Hall, it was billed - more by the specialist press than Hall himself - as an attempt to create a PC-specific title of Final Fantasy-style stature and substance. In that sense, it was certainly a failure. Many of Hall's ideas were shelved in order to ship it, and it was cursed by - in a curious parallel with Fanal Fantasy VII's early Midgar section - a labourious opening chapter that only the dedicated were willing to endure. Unfairly sullied by its association with its stablemate Daikatana, Anachronox met with mostly lukewarm reviews and a positively icy reception at retail.
Nonetheless, there is a redemptive aspect to its story: it became a cult favourite among PC owners willing to invest the initial effort, and then time, to complete it. Edge February 2003 - Issue 120, page 87

Haha, looking forward to the FAC. I'll be sure to vote for it. Got to say, indie video games from the last 2 years are a lot easier than decade-old games. --PresN 08:42, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
