MDR[edit]

Hi ZenZi6. You mentioned on the Belgrave talk-page that you're planning to do individual articles for certain 3MDR programmes. I just thought I'd warn you, before you put too much work into them, that there have been two Victorian community radio programmes up for AFD lately (Articles For Deletion). One was Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Trash on A Platter (still being voted on), and the other was Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vindaloo Cocktail (now deleted). Details on specific show might be better placed in the main 3MDR article.

By the way, I had a show on MDR back in the late '80s. It was caled The Unseen Mechanised Eye. We played mainly goth / post-punk stuff. Cnwb 22:03, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ZenZi6. I've had a look at your edits, and you certainly seem to have gotten the hang of editing Wikipedia. I'm not sure where to suggest for further help. I take it you've seen Help:Contents and Wikipedia:Community Portal, which are both useful jumping-off points.

Maybe if I fill you in on some of the things I spend my time doing at Wikipedia.

Wikipedia:WikiProject Melbourne. This is a collective who are aiming to improve articles on Melbourne and surrounds. Might be right up your alley. The actual projects might not be updated very often, but the discussion page is a good place to meet other Melbourne Wikipedians.
Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board. This is a great place to get to know other Australian Wikipedians. The discussion is fairly active.
Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board/Complete to-do. This is a list of ideas for Australian articles that need creating or improving.
Wikipedia:New articles (Australia). This is a list of articles which have recently been added.
Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Australia. This is a list of Australian articles which are up for AFD (Articles For Deletion). You can lend a hand by voting on them. By the way, don't get stressed out if one of your own articles ends up on AFD, it happens to all of us (ie. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eastern Hill Fire Station).
Special:Newpages. This lists the latest articles added to Wikipedia. I often check in on this, and try to improve the articles as they appear. Some can be straight-out nonsense, and can meet Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. Otherwise, I often fix things up according to the Style Manual. you can also add the appropriate stubs to short articles.

Hopefully there's enough there to keep you busy :) Let me know if you have any more concerns, I'm always keen to help others out. There are so many policies and procedures on Wikipedia, I think everyone is constantly learning something new. Cnwb 23:26, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
