The article Zoey Grey has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Veinor (talk to me) 21:49, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References have been added. Article is currently being written.. please stop jumping the gun and deleting the article before it is finished. Additional media and news coverage is also being broadcast ATM, so additional references will take a few hours to compile. Otherwise the current references include multiple independent mainstream sources. Thank you for your interest. ZoeyGrey 21:54, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Which part of the biographical notability guidelines do you believe this person fits into? It seems like she is the subject of a few local human interest stories. While I'm sure she's a fascinating individual, fifteen minutes of fame do not a notable figure make. --SquidSK (1MClog) 22:14, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple mentions of her (directly) and video appearances of her and her peers (directly and indirectly) in numerous televised news broadcasts, radio and mainstream print should qualify for notability... wether it's only 15 minutes or years is beside the point when it verges on international news I believe the notability is self evident. At worst it should be put to a vote once the article is completed.. not SPEEDY DELETED without just cause. :( ZoeyGrey 22:26, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Being in a video doesn't really establish notability; the purpose of the sources is for information about her, and obviously just seeing her in a video doesn't establish much other than a gross physical description. And (like I said on my talk page) I'm perfectly willing to help you request deletion review. Veinor (talk to me) 22:28, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The video is about a notable charity program that she is a part of and that she was featured publicly commenting on from a highly publicized vantage (the online clip on the site is short but you still get the idea). I believe my article made this very clear (it will be clearer once I finish it), and additional personal references (such as her musical aspirations) were removed to avoid conflict with the notable content. i.e. She is not a notable musician; but she is a notable member of the Dreams Take Flight program as in she was selected as a spokesperson commenting on behalf of the peer group involved in the program via multiple AND seperate mainsteam media channels. Username and Zoey Grey[edit]

I'd definitely say that you need to change your username, unless your actual name is indeed Zoey Grey. You can do so at Wikipedia:Changing username. Note, however, that all the comments you signed will still show up under this account, so it'd be a good idea to go and change those (after your request is granted, of course). Once you've done so, leave me a message with your new username and I'll put a copy of Zoey Grey in a page in the userspace for your new username. Veinor (talk to me) 01:22, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
