Topic ban over yet?
Hello, I can't quite figure out--is your topic ban over yet? If not, didn't it include not interacting with Fowler&fowler in any way whatsoever? If so, and the ban is not over, perhaps I can mention to him not to post on your talk page...? Pfly (talk) 11:32, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Deshastha Brahmin
Hi Zuggernaut, I want to talk to you about this , which I have currently commented out. Do you know if the Krishna Yajur Veda has any significance in other regions? Karnataka or Gujarat probably. I'm from Karnataka, and don't have much of an idea of the Yajur Veda, so could you find out some detail about it? Thanks (feel free to revert of course). Lynch7 08:22, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for initiating this discussion. I'll let you revert/update depending on where the sources lead us. The "Irrelevant to Maharashtra" comment was in the context of Deshastha Brahmins only (i.e., there are no Deshasthas following these shakhas). The articles on Yajur and Shakhas inform us that there are of course four surviving shakhas of the Yajur, some of which are in use in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat. Since Deshasthas are the original Brahmins on the Desh, I am not sure how the Yajur is in recitation in Nasik but irrelevant for the Deshasthas (it's kind of contradictory but it is possible we may have made some incorrect assumptions). BTW, if you are up for improving any of the Veda/Shaka/Hindu scriptures articles to GA level, we can collaborate on it. Zuggernaut (talk) 13:23, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying. Maybe it would be more appropriate to put something like "Irrelevant for Deshasthas"? It might be a tad inaccurate, but it probably will fit the bill just fine. About the collaboration, I'd be happy to! I have a general understanding of the Rig Veda, but I must warn you, I'm not too good at scriptures. - You need to dig deeper and look for robust sources. I only have peripheral interest in this matter right now. I do not see Pakdef.info being called areliable source for Wikipedia. Bharat-Rakshak.com is only very marginally better than Pakdef.info. Zuggernaut (talk) 23:11, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
- Yes exactly, I agree to your suggestion, but inspite of all the editors saying not to use Pakdef.info as a wp:RS the other editor who moved and changed your comment to make it look older has been using the source Pakdef.info exhaustively on the history related articles of the Indian Military. with the lame pretext that pakdef.info has been declared a reliable source by wp:RSN, which is wrong. Thats why i was hoping to get a final and Clear Consensus regarding the discussions. I was checking pakdef.info for an article on operation Changez khan and i have pointed out some serious flaws in its articles by my comments on the [wp:RSN RSN]. but the other editor seems to by trying to hush up the matter and by motivating other editors and trying to close the issue before a final decision and by trying to get the benefit of the grey areas.--ÐℬigXЯaɣ 00:30, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

- Isn't that great stuff, Joyson! No comment other than it's a strategic project and it almost seems to address issues around my topic ban :-) Expect more of this in the near and mid-term future but also expect it to wane as the problem of systemic bias on Wikipedia undergoes a correction helped by the correcting of the real world systemic bias. - WPIndia does have a problem due to low IQ users who are stuck with obsolete modes of thinking and who are unable to come to terms with current realities. I remember a dialogue in an old movie Krantiveer in which Nana Patekar says, "Isi liye mein kehta hoon ki hamesha wakt ke saath chalo! Na paanch minute ke aagey, na hi paanch minute se pehlein." - Guys, I was referring to the oral citations project and the related film which I navigated to from Joyson's fundraising link (People are Knowledge [without English subtitiles :(]) but your criticism could apply elsewhere as you suggest.
