WLVN (104.9 MHz), is a FM radio stations broadcasting in the Middle Tennessee area licensed to Woodbury with the stations serving the Nashville metropolitan area. It is currently branded as K-LOVE, repeating a satellite-delivered contemporary Christian format. The station is owned by Educational Media Foundation and is one of the two flagship stations of the K-Love brands based in nearby Franklin, Tennessee. (The other being WLVU)

History

[edit]

The station signed on as WLMM on August 23, 1991. On June 1, 1994, the station changed its call sign to the current "WBOZ", and began broadcasting a Southern gospel format, branded as "Solid Gospel 105", in which it broadcasted Salem's national Solid Gospel format, which would later rebrand to Singing News Radio. The station was then considered to be the Flagship Station for the Network.[2] WBOZ would broadcast the Southern gospel format from 1994 until July 2012, when the station began simulcasting sister station WFFH.[3]

On March 21, 2024, Salem Media Group announced that they were selling their Nashville Christian AC "Fish" brands to Educational Media Foundation for $7 million, those stations being WFFH, WFFI and WBOZ. A Network Affiliation Agreement took effect on May 1 ahead of closing the sale.

At the stroke of midnight on May 1, 2024, WBOZ, along with then sister station WFFI began airing the national K-LOVE radio feed without explanation, following the implementation of a local marketing agreement between Salem Media and Educational Media Foundation. The LMA between Salem Media and EMF was in place until the sale of the stations was finalized on June 7, 2024.[4] Also in the process, the Callsign for WBOZ was then changed to WLVN.[5] Salem's Today's Christian Music/The Fish format continues to be heard online only at The Fish Website.[6][7][8]
