Operator: William Pietri
Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic, unsupervised
Programming Language(s): Java
Function Summary: Sending regular user-requested reminders for chosen Wikipedia chores.
Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): Continuous
Edit rate requested: 100 edits per week 5 edits per minute
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): N
Function Details:
Via a user-page template, users can request that ChoreBot regularly remind them to work on things of their own choosing. For example, I might tell it that I want to spend an hour every Sunday on CAT:CSD. Initially ChoreBot will only send email reminders via "Email This User". I will likely add an option for talk-page reminders, too, but I don't expect a lot of volume there, thus the low edit count. It will not edit any pages but the talk pages of users who have subscribed. See User:ChoreBot for more info.
Discussion
[edit]It looks great to me. I wouldn't limit your edit count per week, though; you might just want to use a standard edit rate (5 edits/minute, for example). — madman bum and angel 19:30, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Great point. I've changed it to match, although just to be clear I still expect a very low rate of actual edits. Thanks! William Pietri 20:54, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Indeed. Thanks for all the documentation; have at it. Approved for trial (50 edits) (10 e-mails). — madman bum and angel 23:58, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Hi! Sorry, none to speak of yet. A bunch of client work appeared unexpectedly. I have some code that does the reads I want, but I'm not sending any emails out yet. Given work and upcoming holidays, it will probably be mid-January at the earliest before I have time to complete and test this. William Pietri (talk) 16:28, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Request Expired. Marking request as expired as it was either never transcluded to Wikipedia:BRFA or has had no attention for some time. Richard0612 12:17, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
