Function details: I plan on creating Wikipedia:File Database Reports in which I would use a bot to generate and post stats for the file namespace. These reports will be specifically geared towards Fileworkers and the backlogs they work on. If approved, the bot will not edit outside supbpages of Wikipedia:File Database Reports. On a side note, I already run a few reports in my userspace - User:Fastily/FfD, User:Fastily/OOTS, User:Fastily/COGG.
Discussion
[edit]- I think this is a great idea. I expanded on it a bit at User_talk:Sven_Manguard#File_Database_Reports before this was followed. Considering that it seems I work with Fastily on a near daily basis and I only knew about one of those three, I'm very much in favor for a directory of these things in the Wikipedia namespace. I can also testify to the fact that User:Fastily/FfD has run like clockwork for weeks and weeks, and is quite useful. Sven Manguard Wha? 22:59, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- What rate were you thinking for updates? - Jarry1250 [Deliberation needed] 19:53, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Daily or weekly, depending on how often the report needs to be updated in order to stay useful. -FASTILY (TALK) 20:36, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Sounds reasonable Approved for trial (7 days). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. to check technical details - Jarry1250 [Deliberation needed] 01:54, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- {{OperatorAssistanceNeeded|D}} – Any updates on this? It's been more than seven days, obviously, but it looks like the bot's only updated Wikipedia:File Database Reports/FfD twice (22 and 23 January) and your alternate account's updated Wikipedia:File Database Reports/COGG twice (?). — madman 05:54, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- He's away until the 8th, according to his userpage. Sven Manguard Wha? 05:59, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
