Function details: the script is going to fix some obvious misspelling in some easy to identify standard sections headers. I wish to stress that the section has to start in the "wight way" in order to be identified and checked. For example:
- External links: the section has to start with "<LF>*" or "<LF>{{Commons".
- "== External link ==" --> "== External links =="
- "== External Links ==" --> "== External links =="
- "== external links ==" --> "== External links =="
- "== Externals links ==" --> "== External links =="

- "== See Also ==" --> "== See also =="
- "== see also ==" --> "== See also =="
- "== Also see ==" --> "== See also =="
- "== Also See ==" --> "== See also =="
- etc.
- Further reading: the section has to start with "<LF>*".
- "== Further readings ==" --> "== Further reading =="
- "== further reading ==" --> "== Further reading =="
- "== Further Reading ==" --> "== Further reading =="
- "== Furter reading ==" --> "== Further reading =="
- "== Furthers reading ==" --> "== Further reading =="
- "== Futher reading ==" --> "== Further reading =="
- "== Further reding ==" --> "== Further reading =="
- etc.
- References: the section has to start with "<LF>" or "<LF>{{Reflist" or "<LF>*".
- "== Reference ==" --> "== References =="
- "== references ==" --> "== References =="
- "== Refèrences ==" --> "== References =="
- "== Renferences ==" --> "== References =="
- "== Refences ==" --> "== References =="

- "== REferences ==" --> "== References =="
- "== Reverences ==" --> "== References =="

- "== Footnote ==" --> "== Footnotes =="
- etc.
- Notes and references: the section has to start with "<LF>" or "<LF>{{Reflist" or "<LF>*".
- "== Notes and reference ==" --> "== Notes and references =="

Discussion
[edit]- These could be considered cosmetic changes and would be disallowed per Wikipedia:BOTPOL#Cosmetic_changes unless it made other edits with it. I may be in the wrong here though.—cyberpower ChatOnline 18:41, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, fixing a typo was never considered a cosmetic change. -- Basilicofresco (msg) 20:13, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I know (and love enforcing) the cosmetic changes restrictions, but I'm not sure it applies here Cyber. Specifically, none of these edits are only changing whitespace and some of them are fairly major looking changes like "== Externa länkar ==" --> "== External links ==". Particularly the ones that fix language or gross spelling errors look fine to me. MBisanz talk 00:49, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I was just throwing it out there. I have no objection to the task itself.—cyberpower ChatOnline 01:09, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Approved for trial (50 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Okey, I'm trialing because it seems ok, but leaving it open for someone to show why cosmetic applies. MBisanz talk 02:34, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- This task is one of the things I asked from Basilicofresco to do. I've been doing it manually for the last 2-3 years based on database scans. This task is covered by Wikipedia:External_links#External_links_section and more in the Manual of Style. -- Magioladitis (talk) 06:33, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
