As it stands the article proposal does not appear to pass the WP:BAND criteria. See if there is some more, such as appearance in two newspapers or a world tour, or a charting song that would help the article gain viability here. I see you have made a start at User:RejectedByAll/A hero a fake Later on you will be able to fix that capital F in the name! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:39, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Eileen Vollick

[edit]

Hello! I am looking to create a page about Eileen Vollick, Canada's first licensed female pilot. Below are some information and references.

Eileen Vollick (1908-1968) became Canada's first licensed female pilot on March 13, 1928. She was born in Wiarton, Ontario and enrolled in Jack V. Elliot's Flying School at Ghents Crossing on Burlington Bay. She obtained private pilot license #77 after demonstrating take-offs and landings on the frozen Burlington Bay, performing five figure-eights and flying 175 miles cross-country. Vollick flew in the U.S. and Canada and enjoyed aerobatic flying. Shortly after obtaining her license, she married James Hopkin. They moved to New York State to raise a family, where she lived until her death in 1968. The First Canadian Chapter posthumously awarded Eileen Vollick with an Amelia Earhart Medallion in 1975. On August 2, 2008 (what would have been her 100th birthday) the Eileen Vollick Terminal was named in her honor at the Wiarton-Keppel International Airport.

Midget and Hairs

[edit]

Hello everyone.

As per the "how to post a Wikipedia article" article, I am asking for editor feedback on this page. This entry is for the band Midget and Hairs, part of the Elephant Six Collective. Please let me know what ya'll think.

Midget and Hairs is the experimental pop recording project of Paige Dearman, a musician associated with the Elephant Six Collective.

Dearman was born in Monroe, Louisiana, and later was introduced to members of the Elephant Six Collective in Ruston, Louisiana. Dearman first began recording under the Midget and Hairs moniker in 1996, with the release of a 7-inch entitled “Cactus Screwballs.” The release featured Jeff Mangum, Hilarie Sidney, and Robert Schneider, who produced it. Dearman would continue to work with Mangum on recordings, and later collaborated with Andy Gonzales of the Marshmallow Coast on a 7-inch entitled “I’m a Big Kid Now” after the two moved to Seattle.[1]

Dearman moved to Austin, Texas, where she began working as a psychiatric nurse’s assistant. In 2007, the label Royal Rhino Flying Records released a compendium of new and previously released material, entitled Midget and Hairs. [2] It was Dearman’s first full-length release.

Comment on Midget and Hairs

[edit]

I have added a subsection for references, so they can be seen right here and not in a different section. As for the article itself, I have seen many band articles deleted because they are not notable. I have no opinion on the notability of this band, but more inline citations would be a very good idea to avoid an immediate AfD. Perhaps some other editor knows this music genre and can provide an opinion.

I don't know the genre but Midget and Hairs includes members with articles, so it should not be immediately deleted. However read WP:BAND to see if there is a criteria that the article could be kept under. I delete a lot of band articles. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:50, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Etienne Sauret, director of a number of documentaries, including one on 9/11 and one on Sasha (Alexander) Shulgin, winner of Silverdocs award

[edit]

I want to do a Wikipedia page for him, using his IMDB page, a few web articles, his film's premiere at the SXSW film fest in 2010, links to the subject of his films, WTC: The First 24 Hours, Sasha Shulgin, and so on, and I would also like to create pages for those films and link them to appropriate pages like the one on 9/11 films.

Does this meet the notable person requirement? What other elements need I consider?

Thank you.

Off to a good start. The web pages should be independently written, and hopefully reliable! Newspaper or magazine stories are good too. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:47, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proto magazine

[edit]

I've added an article "draft" in my personal user space onProto magazine. I think it warrants an entry -- articles from the magazine have been reprinted, cited, etc., in a number of well-known venues, including the Washington Post (they have reprinted three stories since 2008). The magazine also inspired discussion from Rush Limbaugh. I'm worried, however, about the article appearing "promotional" and being deleted. I would love any input on how to make sure I'm approaching things correctly.

Elemiska (talk) 20:36, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That does not look too promotional, but you should add the information you mentioned above, that indicate it is important. If you do this, it will be ready to move into article space. Since the title is Proto the article should be called Proto (magazine) Graeme Bartlett and then add an entry to Proto. (talk) 06:44, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Create article Florida State Road 285

[edit]

I would like to create this article but I don't have any sources. If anybody has suggestions let me know on my talk page. I'm going to create it on AfC. thanks. 68.106.193.194 (talk) 11:25, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

MTCSC, Inc.

[edit]

MTCSC, Inc.

[edit]

I work for the corporation MTCSC, Inc and I feel MTCSC merits a wikipedia article. I have created a "draft" in my user page. This draft is not menat to be an advertisement; it is menat to be informative. Before creating the draft, I referenced several wikipedia articles on organizations. The topics covered in my draft seem to be the standard topics covered in all organzation wikipedia articles. Please review the draft and send me suggestions for making it more informative.

Why MTCSC?

[edit]

I feel MTCSC merits a wikipedia article because despite the economic downturn, MTCSC is continuing to grow. MTCSC's growth has been recgonized, more than once, by the Inc. 5000, Inc. 500, and listed in the San Diego Business Journal's "100 Fastest-Growing Privately Held Companies." I think it's notable that MTCSC continues to grow and develop, which provides more job availability. MTCSC holds several industry and academic partnerships such as Google, Microsoft, CollabNet, George Mason, University of Virginia, and Penn State. Additionally, MTCSC is present in a recent article, "Top Secret America", published by the Washington Post. Additionally, MTCSC has done a lot for the defense industry. The founder of MTCSC invested his own money to construct two facilities (ITSFAC and C4T). Both facilities offer opportunities in the industry that were not available until these facilities were created. Overall, I believe MTCSC has enriched the defense industry more so than other private contractors and MTCSC is present enough in the public to earn a wikipedia page. Please help me make this happen. I would really like suggestions. Acelaine (talk) 20:36, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
