What idea(s) do you have for what the new structure for the U.S. and Canada Wikipedia Education Programs could look like?

I have plenty of ideas but here are a few 1) Incorporate a grassroots publicity campaign for the education program that incorporates public speakers who are alumni of the program. Something akin to xTED talks at local venues and something more low key at smaller cites. 2) Facilitate and support local Wikipedia student organization on campuses. 3) At the end of every semester solicit video contributions from students and faculty to be uploaded voluntarily to a secure online server on YouTube or Vimeo or elsewhere. Once done, they can be circulated widely. 4) Popularizing the article pages generated by the program at each university by encouraging local coverage in media, university highlighting these.

How would you ensure this new structure involves all key stakeholders, including academics and the Wikipedia community?

These ideas each address the academics, university faculty, the students whose knowledge and activities are piqued by this program. More importantly, for the wikipedia community, each of these initiatives will ensure that the newcomers are trained to be scrupulous and detail oriented.

What are potential pitfalls of this approach?

Concern that it may not need a threshold of enthusiasm.
