Original: An early pair of eight Argentine escudo gold coins issued by the forerunner states that would eventually become Argentina. The first was issued by the United Provinces of the Rio de la Plata (1828) and depicts the Sun of May and an early version of the Coat of arms of Argentina. The second was issued by the Argentine Confederation (1836) and depicts Juan Manuel de Rosas and a mountain with crossed flags. There are reportedly only six of these 1836 coins known.

United Provinces of the Rio de la Plata (1828) and depicts the Sun of May and an early version of the Coat of arms of Argentina.

Argentine Confederation (1836) and depicts Juan Manuel de Rosas and a mountain with crossed flags. Extremely rare.
