Original – Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, pilot of the Gemini 12 spacecraft, is seen in a self-photograph during extra-vehicular activity (EVA) in 1966.

Reason

Historical and notable as the first EVA space self potrait ever taken, as well as high EV and good resolution.

• Support – yes the shadows are lost, but it should be judged for what it is: a documentary photo, an early space photo, 1966, the first of its kind (EVA), as published by NASA [1], the lighting contrast is too severe to expect reasonable shadows (or else the highlights would blow), one-time event (irreplaceable).
