Original – Meshes of the Afternoon is a 1943 American short experimental film directed by and starring wife-and-husband team Maya Deren and Alexandr Hackenschmied.

Reason: As one of the most influential experimental films and being added to the National Film Registry in the registry's second year, this film has more than enough pedigree to be a Featured Picture.
