Wonder Women of Natural History

Join the Zoological Society of London in a one-day Wikipedia editathon dedicated to improving the Wikipedia pages of the most remarkable women who have helped shape our understanding of natural history.

  • Date: 18th January 2014, 10am - 4pm
  • Location: London Zoo, Mappin Pavillion
  • Twitter hashtag: #WISWIKI

Schedule

  • 09:30-09:45: Meet at the Prince Albert Gate of ZSL London Zoo (Outer Circle, about 100m east of main entrance)
  • 10:00: Welcome, tea/coffee
  • 10:15: Begin wiki training and start getting to grips with editing
  • 11:15: Head to the ZSL Library to see materials from some amazing women scientists
  • 12:15: Head back to hear from Liz Smith from the Darwin Correspondence Project who will show us the short film Darwin’s Women
  • 12:30: Back to editing and start researching
  • 13:15 (ish): Lunch and zoo (there is a café but you are more than welcome to bring your own packed lunch)
  • 14:15: Feedback on progress, chat about discoveries and troubleshooting
  • 14:30: Editing
  • 15:30-16:00: Wrap up/end
