From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wiki & Biccy

Wiki = a web application which allows people to add, modify, or delete content in a collaboration with others.

Biccy = a biscuit (colloquial slang).

Wiki&Biccy = the inevitable combination of Wikis and Biccies into a glorious informal gathering of like-minded individuals with an interest in open knowledge and a hunger for home-baked goods.

Who can attend? Anyone who is or would like to be a Wikipedian!

As part of the National Library of Scotland' engagement with Wikimedia, the first Wiki & Biccy session has been organised. These are designed to function like a knitting circle: come to learn, come to ask for advice, come to give advice, come to edit in good company, or just come to sit and eat biscuits and meet new people and bask in the light of open knowledge. It is hoped that more Wiki&Biccy sessions will spread beyond the NLS, beyond Edinburgh, beyond Scotland!

All are welcome, and if you'd like to organise one simply post the details below!

I want to host a Wiki&Biccy[edit]

Feel free to post your username and potential dates, times, and locations for Wiki & Biccy sessions if you'd like to host your own. These can be anything from 4 pals with some tea and biscuits sitting around in a Parisian cafe with laptops, to larger groups hosted by local GLAM organisations. All you need are biscuits and wifi!
