Wikipedia:Historical archive/Imported pictures/Pictures from cityoflondon.gov.uk Details

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am writing on behalf of an online local history / gazeteer site about the picture library on the corporation's web site.

They would like to use the images of buildings to illustrate articles about them. They would be a maximum of 300 pixels wide.

It isn't obvious the license that the photos have been released under. The projects runs under a "copyleft" license (the GFDL) and ideally would need images in the public domain, or specific permission to use them.

Thanks for your help

Hi XXXX

We don't have a picture library as such on the website so I'm a little confused! Do you want to call me to explain which images you wanted - xxx xxxx xxxx?

Kind regards

This is what I was referring to.

Ah! It's an ambitious title for one page... (we're actually investigating creating a proper picture library at present hence the confusion.)

Yes, it's fine to use any of those - just credit the Corporation by each image (either as a alt-tag or in the text).

Hope that helps
