Esther James was a land developer who designed and built several houses, but her Wikipedia page currently only describes her as a model.

On 7 October, DrThneed will run a Wikipedia event on Women and Architecture, as part of the Southern Heritage Festival. This event falls under the New Zealand Women in Architecture Wikiproject.

Articles to improve[edit]

Page Notes Sources Wikidata item
Ann Monroe Gilchrist Strong Currently "stub" article.

Professor of home science at University of Otago, arranged first architecture lectures by a woman in NZ.

There is an image that can be added (File:Ann Gilchrist Strong 1926.jpg)

see sources on page, and p404 of Making Space, plus Beyond the domestic sphere? article Ann Monroe Gilchrist Strong (Q4766573)
Esther James Currently talks of her only as a fashion model, yet she designed and built multiple houses, and campaigned for matrimonial property law reform. E.g. Turnbull library entry says "Inventor, fashion model, promoter, marathon walker, builder, built her own houses. Wrote her autobiography 'Jobbing Along'."

Also add a link in the text back to her page from her grandfather's page (she is currently only linked in infobox).

Dictionary of National Biography entry (linked on page), plus Esther James (Q5401208)
Bronwen Kerr Currently very brief with no images. see existing sources on page, plus pages 245, 247, 253 of Making Space
Katherine Skipper Article has orphan tag, so we need to find some other articles to link to it (e.g. add her to the alumna list for her school). Also very brief. see existing sources on page, including Making Space p206
Kimberly Browne Needs linking to and expanding. see existing sources on page, plus p320 Making Space (just a mention)
