Welcome to the New York State Routes WikiProject's assessment department. This department's primary purpose is to assess the quality of articles that fall within the scope of this project. The process follows the goals of the WP:1.0 program and is intended to aid in recognizing excellent contributions to the project and identifying topics or regions in need of further work.

The ratings are done in a distributed fashion through parameters in the {{WikiProject U.S. Roads}} talk page banner; this causes the articles to be placed in the appropriate sub-categories of Category:New York road transport articles by quality and Category:New York road transport articles by importance. Articles that fall within the scope of this project shall use the quality and importance scale criteria defined below.

Statistics

[edit]

Quality scale

[edit]

Articles shall be rated on quality using the U.S. Roads WikiProject's quality scale, which is sufficient for the vast majority of road articles. Set the quality using the banner's {{{class}}} parameter.

Importance scale

[edit]

Articles shall be rated on importance using the following criteria:

These ratings may conflict with those specified by the U.S. Roads WikiProject's importance scale; when this occurs, the importance rating for this project shall be set using the banner's {{{state_importance}}} parameter (or {{{state#_importance}}} if New York is not the only topic that applies to that article). If the ratings are identical, the importance only needs to be set once, using the {{{importance}}} parameter.

A list of articles by importance is available here.
