Alaskan wild berries

The wild berries in this selection from Alaska's Innoko National Wildlife Refuge are not berries in the botanical sense. The common use of the word berry refers to any small, sweet, fleshy fruit. However, the botanical use of the word is based on which part of the plant's ovary develops into the fruit. Examples in this selection are blueberries, a type of false berry, and raspberries, an aggregate fruit.
