Céline Dion[edit]

The article in its current state is quite commendable. Ive worked hard on it, and Ive seeked help from a few good editors. However, I still feel that it needs a bit of work. Im quite proud of the article interms of its factual accuracy, writing style etc. A section — Entrepreneurship— still needs to be expanded. Additionally, the section following her 'return to music industry' could use a better flow (transition) between paragraphs. Any feedback (or compliments) would be appreciated. • The image used to illustrate the lead is tagged as "albumcover", and so is not fair use in its current position. I would recommend mentioning the Order of Canada achievement in the lead, which needs some expansion, and moving that image up. One could definitely work in more information about Nickles. The list of "notes and references" is bulleted, so there is no way for the reader to know which statement is referenced by what. Inline links should be turned into footnotes, as well. The phrase "commercial and critical success" is used repetitively, and there are other cliches like "rose from humble beginnings". I'd lose the "Career achievements" section and work that into prose, but this is a stylistic preference that others may not share. If my response reads like I'm responding to WP:FAC instead of WP:PR it is because I think that this article is almost there. Jkelly 03:12, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nice article! Great work. Some small concerns, however. The fair use images will need fair use rationale (I see you have already done this for Image:SmallCelineDion.jpg), and while's it's good that you have included the external links for where they came from, you should list the copyright holder on the image description page itself, so people will know what the source and copyright status of the image is in case the links go dead. Also, Image:A New Day.jpg seems to be as high resolution as the original image, so you could do with scaling it down so it can better qualify as fair use (but not too small that it becomes pixelated at its current size on the article). Additionally, the references may be reformatted (see Wikipedia:Cite sources/example style and Wikipedia:Template messages/Sources of articles/Generic citations, as well as The Jackson 5), and some wikilinks could be removed, though this is more a case of personal style than anything. Once again, I would like to reiterate that I really liked this article, even though my experience of Dion's music has been limited to that song :).
