He-Man[edit]

I've listed this article for peer review because I would like to improve the "Queer analysis" section. Such as the character's perceived / implied homosexuality, or status as a gay icon. I have already found and used multiple sources from websites found on Google, but I was hoping to get some help with finding scholarly / peer-reviewed articles and whatnot; or book chapters, if any discuss the topic.

Comments from Wetrorave[edit]

That's what you're saying, right? And I say HEYYEYAAEYAAAEYAEYAA

In all seriousness now, here's my review of the section. You may want to add {{Find sources}} on the talk page for further help on finding scholar/book sources. I think it's pretty well-written and generally neutral, I have very few comments to make.

Homosexual reading[edit]
  • "According to Syfy," → "According to Syfy writer Jordan Zakarin,"
  • "and his phallic sword; with" – a comma would be better than a semicolon here
  • "He-Man never shows an interest in them," – I'm not sure if "an" between "shows" and "interest" is needed for the sentence to make sense
Gay icon[edit]
  • "and the character is now viewed" → "being now viewed"
  • "Men's Health magazine" – just "Men's Health" rather than "Men's Health magazine" is fine
  • "as helping pave to the for the reboot" – something is wrong
Response from Mattel and insiders[edit]
  • Maybe it's worth mentioning that Queerty is a magazine covering gay-oriented lifestyle, like stated with Out

The above comments aside, "Queer analysis" is a pretty good read. Other than that section, I would suggest changing "Actors who have played He-Man" to simply "In acting", though that may be too simple/vague of a title. Wetrorave (talk) 00:34, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
