List of awards and nominations received by Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends[edit]

This peer review discussion has been closed.
I've listed this article for peer review because I hope to make an WP:FL eventually. All sources are reliable, but I'm almost positive there are some prose issues in the lead where I couldn't word properly. Any other comments are warmly welcomed.

Brianboulton comments: Apologies for the delay in dealing with this PR request, but the article was temporarily "lost" in the list of requests. I will get to it later today. Brianboulton (talk) 08:37, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Review

  • Prose issues
    • "Throughout its run, it was nominated for and won a plethora of awards in the television and animation industry." As written the sentence implies that every time the show was nominated for an award it won it. It needs rewording along the lines "...was nominated for a plethora of awards in the television and animation industry, winning many."
    • "eighteen" should be written numerically, per MOS
    • "It received eighteen Annie Award nominations, including Best Animated Television Production in 2006, of which it won five." → "It received 18 Annie Award nominations, of which it won five, including Best Animated Television Production in 2006."
    • "Both television one-hour specials..." The word "television" is redundant; we're talking about a TV show
    • different Emmy ceremonies" → should this be "other" rather than "different"?
    • "The Ottawa International Animation Festival awarded the episode "Squeeze the Day" in the category "Best Television Animation for Children" in 2007." Confusing wording. Exactly which award did this episode receive in the category "Best Television Animation for Children"?
    • "eight-fifth"? Is this 85th? Needs to be written numerically.
    • The two parts of this sentence should not be conjoined by "while", as they record entirely separate facts
    • "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends has won five Annie Awards nominated for another eighteen." Grammar needs sorting out, (and eighteen should be 18)
    • I would say that Emmy awards are awarded for excellence rather than "to" excellence (note at top of Emmy awards table)
    • "three sister programs"? This is very confusing use of the word "programs" in this context
    • "Foster's has won seven Emmy Awards in different categories and been nominated for two others." From the table, six of the Emmy awards are in one category and one in another. The above sentence could state this more clearly.
    • "Other commendations" section: all this information has already been stated. As this page is a list rather than an article, it is not necessary to repeat facts given in the lead section.
  • Tables
    • Why is the Primetime Emmy Award information formatted differently?
      • Huh? I don't see any formatting differences. The Flash {talk} 19:08, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
        • I am referring to the following, under the Emmy awards table. I took this to be a separate set of information, but it seems they may be footnotes to the Emmy table. Can you clarify what they are? If they are footnotes they should be at the end of the article not in the middle. Brianboulton (talk) 19:35, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

^2006 Primetime Emmy Award nominees for "Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming Less Than One Hour)": Craig McCracken, Brian A. Miller, Lauren Faust, Jennifer Pelphrey, Vince Aniceto, Robert Alvarez, Eric Pringle[1]

^2007 Primetime Emmy Award nominees for "Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming One Hour or More)": Craig McCracken, Brian A. Miller, Jennifer Pelphrey, Lauren Faust, Vince Aniceto, Michelle Papandrew, Darrick Bachman, Craig Lewis, Robert Alvarez, Eric Pringle, Robert Cullen[1]

^2009 Primetime Emmy Award winners for "Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming One Hour or More)": Craig McCracken, Brian Miller, Jennifer Pelphrey, Ryan Slater, Michelle Papandrew, Lauren Faust, Tim McKeon, Darrick Bachman, Ed Baker, Vaughn Tada, Alex Kirwan, Rob Renzetti, Robert Alvarez, Eric Pringle[2]

    • Very small point, but the table presentation would be better if the dashes indicating no information were centered within their cells.
    • Images
    • Having got the Craig and Lauren image at the top, is it necessary to show them individually in crops from the same image?
    • If you are aiming for FL you will need to add alt text to the images. See WP:ALT

I hope the above comments are helpful. Brianboulton (talk) 22:23, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, they were. I've taken care of the prose issues but have some confusion with Table issues. The Flash {talk} 19:08, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
