Microsoft Office protected view

[edit]

Is it possible to disable Protected View permanently for an individual file? It's easy to find instructions online on how to disable the feature entirely, but that would mean that any web-originated file is opened without warning. I often work with a few specific web-originated files, and I've edited them lots of times, so I know that they're safe, but I still have to turn off Protected View each time I open them, and it would be nice to be able to skip that step. Well, if you exit protected view and then save the file, that's supposed to be the end of it. When that doesn't work (because Microsoft), I generally start a new file, then copy the contents of the original to that. This ensures that the meta-data in the file says that it originated on your computer. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPants Tell me all about it. 13:47, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
