Mouse[edit]

In Win7, is there some way to disable the mouse thumb-buttons (or whatever you call the two buttons on the thumb-side)? I've been to the 'Mouse' section of the Control Panel, but nothing there relates to that. --2606:A000:1126:28D:2570:1961:6AE8:89B (talk) 21:09, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What operating system and version? Elizium23 (talk) 21:55, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Win7 Pro SP1 --2606:A000:1126:28D:2570:1961:6AE8:89B (talk) 00:08, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
One of these looks like it should do the trick. I found that with a Web search for "windows remap mouse buttons". Note that Windows 7 is EOL and no longer receiving security updates (at least for consumer editions). If possible I advise you to install a supported operating system. --47.146.63.87 (talk) 20:37, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thx for the link! BTW, I'll wait for MS to "address issues" (they don't "solve problems") in Win10 before considering upgrading. --[OP formerly known as 2606: ... :89B]: 107.15.157.44 (talk) 21:43, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In Firefox you can disable this from "about:config", and search "mousebutton", 4th and 5th boolean options should show up Wubbalubbadubdub42 (talk) 00:14, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thx, I'll try that. --[OP formerly known as 2606: ... :89B]:2606:A000:1126:28D:797F:72BC:880:A657 (talk) 01:01, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
