Gus Cannon Slide Banjo

[edit]

After recently hearing a wonderful version of "Poor boy long way from home" by Gus Cannon, under the pseudonym Banjo joe, in which he plays slide banjo it has led me to wonder what other slide banjo is available by him. Upon poking around i have landed on a myspace page, [2], created in honor of gus cannon, where a slide show plays featuring two images of gus playing banjo "hawaiian" or lap style(the author mistakingly refers to it as bottleneck banjo), this leads me to wonder who it was who took these images and if it was(i hope) a song collector who may have recorded him. I have had no success in my hours of web crawling for info, so if anyone has any idea of any additional Gus Cannon slide banjo cuts, or any other interesting slide banjo(other than dom flemons, whom i already know of), or for that matter interesting blues banjo i would appreciate your input, thanks for your time/effort.131.118.73.210 15:58, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Banjer' fan[reply]

Shiny Pokémon

[edit]

In the Pokémon games, there exist Pokémon with alternate, or "shiny" colors. If you were to catch, say, a shiny Pidgey, would it evolve into a shiny Pidgeotto, and then shiny Pidgeot? Also, would you be able to view that Pidgey's shiny color in the Pokédex?--the ninth bright shiner talk 19:27, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The characteristic of "Shiny" in Pokémon in inheritable. That is, if you had a shiny Pidgey, it would evolve into a shiny Pidgeotto and shiny Pidgeot. And then, if you bred it with another Pokémon, there is a chance that the egg hatched will also be shiny (That's why shiny Dittos are very good for breeding in terms of aesthetics). The Pokédex (of the first 3 generations of Pokémon games)only shows the regular colored version of a Pokémon.--ĶĩřβȳŤįɱéØ 02:32, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that's good. Thanks! Is the chance of a shiny Pokémon from the egg significantly better than the "1 in 8,192" chance of normally finding a shiny Pokémon?--the ninth bright shiner talk 22:56, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely. If one of the parents is shiny, there is a 50% chance. If both are shiny, 100%.--Kirbytime 05:57, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CharlieRose Show

How much does PBS pay Charlie Rose to air his syndicated talk show? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.211.211.115 (talk) 20:11, 15 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

pokemon emerald

[edit]

what is is probably the best electric pokemon you can get in this game in terms of stats and moves? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 219.88.167.16 (talk) 23:39, 15 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Do you want a pure electric, or dual-type? Pure electric, I'd go for an Ampharos or Manectric. If you want dual-type, I'd recommend a Magneton (electric/steel), or Lanturn (water/electric).--ĶĩřβȳŤįɱéØ 02:28, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Smokin' Aces Sountrack (possible spoiler)

[edit]

Need some help here guys. I've looked everywhere, and I can't figure out the name of a song from the movie. It's from the end of the film when Messner (Reynolds) pulls the plug on Israel and Sperazza. I know the Composer is a guy named Clint Mansell, who did Requiem for a Dream. I found the soundtrack on Amazon but the only two songs credited to Mansell are "FBI" and "Shell Shock" and neither of those sound like the right song. I also went back and saw the movie again, paying particular attention to the credits as they rolled by giving music credits, but no help there either. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Wow, OK. Found it. Sorry, apparently other people were looking for it as well... It's on the Smokin Aces Wiki page. Looks like I underestimated Wikipedia by not looking there first. Dave
