The name of this drama...?

[edit]

It's a american drama showing on one of the major channels. I think that the producer(s?) are gay, and one/two of the characters are gay. And, (i think), it had an accurate portrayal of the gay characters.

This sounds somewhat like Angels in America, but it was released in 2003. -- JackofOz (talk) 08:10, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, are there any good/interesting British (or anything but American) crime dramas/police procedurals? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.156.91.140 (talk) 16:37, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Prime Suspect, which is British, is quite highly thought of. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 17:12, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I found the first one badly written, for whatever that's worth. The writer wasn't interested in writing a police procedural as such, it was all about the unusual life of a woman detective. —Tamfang (talk) 07:58, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As to the gay thing, you may be thinking of Six Feet Under. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 17:18, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The best British crime drama ever was a show called The Cops. It only ran for two series, hardly anyone saw it and even fewer remember it now and it's never been released on DVD. But, if you can track it down, it's fantastic. There's some information about it here. --Richardrj talk email 18:01, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting British crime drama/police procedural: Life on Mars. Although take care not to read too much of the article if you're planning on watching it. Might even be better not to read past the lede. I hear an American remake was cast and a pilot made, but the strike has interfered. In any case, I'm not sure it would work without John Simm; it could have been very bad, yet somehow wasn't.
And I suppose if you're looking at that, you might want to investigate The Sweeney. Inspector Morse was very popular and critically well reviewed, you could also look at Cadfael. For more in the way of detective/murder investigation (not necessarily involving police) there are many more options, but I'm unsure if that's what you want. How could I neglect to mention Midsomer Murders, a strange police procedural/murder investigation programme set in a fictional rural county with an alarmingly high murder rate that nobody seems to comment on. It's one of the programmes that almost every aspiring actor seems to appear in. Skittle (talk) 05:06, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There are a few Australian police dramas, although many of them have been wrapped up for a while. I can't make any comment on the quality, since I never watched any, but they have included: Blue Heelers, Stingers, Water Rats, Phoenix and its spin-off Janus, Cop Shop, and one of the original cop dramas, Homicide (not to be confused with about 5 other series with similar titles). I really enjoyed Jeremy Brett's portrayal of Sherlock Holmes. Straying a bit from the drama/procedural format, I have also enjoyed Lovejoy and Torchwood. Hot Fuzz was a riot. --— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 03:15, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Bulman; Foyle's War; Midsomer Murders; the Roderick Alleyn series with Patrick Malahide; Cracker; Murder in Suburbia; The Last Detective. If spies count as detectives, The Sandbaggers is brilliant. —Tamfang (talk) 07:58, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I installed the Caesar IV game in my pc and started it. The game started but all I see is white screen though I can hear the music running in the background. When the music stops the Caesar IV cursor appears but the white screen is still there. I can move around the cursor and could even blindly press the menu buttons of the game. But I cannot see anything. What could be wrong? The total display memory of my pc is 64 MB (I got this info from the DirectX diagnostic tool that one gets by typing "dxdiag" in the "run" program in start menu). I got the same problem previously with harry potter 3 but when i modified certain settings like color depth in the .ini file I could see everything again. I tried this with Caesar IV too. But it didn't work. Can you help me out? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.89.21.98 (talk) 09:05, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved your question to The Computing Desk, where it should get more informative replies. Rockpocket 19:23, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Which pop musician has two fake front teeth due to an accident on stage? Scazfamily (talk) 21:37, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sheryl Crow - "I was singing in a top 40 band in St. Louis and a waitress knocked my teeth out with a beer mug, kind of by accident" from this article in People magazine. 84.64.147.106 (talk) 21:50, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
