What TV show is this?

[edit]

What TV show is this? It's a children's animated series, a sci-fi show, kind of a parody of the Star Trek series. It takes place on a starship, where all the crew are different animals wearing Star Trek style uniforms. For example, the captain is a dog and the first officer is a cat. A particularly funny detail I noted was that some of the computer screens on the walls of the bridge showed Pac-Man and Space Invaders during play. I have photographs of this series on TV but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to upload them because of copyright reasons. JIP | Talk 19:27, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It wouldn't be "Star TrEek", a two-part episode of Eek! The Cat, would it? The cat, playing the captain, could be mistaken for a dog. Clarityfiend (talk) 22:17, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You can probably upload them long enough to answer this Q. If the copyright status is unclear, they will eventually be deleted. StuRat (talk) 22:29, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I've now added images. They are marked with a fair use rationale saying that they have been uploaded to ask Wikipedia users to identify this series, and they can be removed once the series has been correctly identified. Note on the third picture, the uppermost two monitors on the right side wall show Pac-Man and Space Invaders instead of normal starship command screens. JIP | Talk 16:13, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Images have since been deleted. Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 22:15, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's Kapteeni Kari. I don't know what its original name is (assuming it is not originally Finnish). Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 16:52, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe someone at the Finland Forum can add some more information.    → Michael J    21:57, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I asked YLE directly, and they replied to me that it's not originally Finnish, it's a foreign series called "Commander Clark". It is translated to Finnish as "Kapteeni Kari" and to Swedish as "Kapten Kasimir". However, when I googled for "Commander Clark", "Kapteeni Kari" or "Kapten Kasimir", all I could find was TV listings and online viewable episodes. Not a single page actually explaining what this series is all about - which company produces it, which people act in it, and what the characters are. JIP | Talk 21:57, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
According to the homepage of the French production company Go-n, the series "follows the hilarious adventures of Commander Clark, a brave canine, descendant of Laïka (the first space dog), who captains the Ark, an intergalactic patrol cruiser to explore the Sunny Galaxy and to protect its inhabitants. Unfortunately, his furry crew consists of a crowd of crazy creatures who manage to cause problems every step of the way ! And to make things more difficult, the ship faces occasional interference from General Rex and the Space Animatronix, a race of wicked mechanical animals intent on ridding the Sunny Galaxy of all organic life!" There is a contact email address listed if you need more details. --Cookatoo.ergo.ZooM (talk) 10:59, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
