The Temptations

[edit]

Hi, I worked at a recording studio in Philadelphia approximately 8-10 years ago. My boss and owner of the record store/recording studio had a VHS tape with the title The Great Leads of the Temptations (title may contain the letters or numbers three or four, as The Three/Four Great Leads of the Temptations). This tape was narrated by Martha Reeves (of Martha & The Vandellas). It showed her having interviews with Eddie Kendricks, Dennis Edwards and David Ruffin. They talked about how the Temptations were formed, their songs, and trials and tribulations that they went thru? Does anybody know where to get this tape or where it can be purchased? I would appreciate any info on this matter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Holly807 (talkcontribs) 02:18, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Could it be The Original Leads of the Temptations? It's available here for $25. The two Amazon reviewers rated it 5 out of 5. Clarityfiend (talk) 09:13, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

can she do it?

I know Mai Asada, Mao Asada and Kim Yu-Na can perform a Biellmann spin, but can Melinda Wang perform the same thing?24.90.204.234 (talk) 12:07, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A slow rock song with the lyrics "Come home to me"

[edit]

So once I heard a slow rock ballad on a commercial for a hotel that had lyrics like "Please come home, come home to me" and ended with "Babe (or babe, I can't remember), Come home to me". I'm not sure what key signature it is, but I'm sure its time signature is 6/8. I have long wondered what this song is, but I can't find it anywhere, and the lyrics "come home to me" are too common. Can someone help me? It is bothering me. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:26, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not "Baby Please Come Home" by John Martyn, by any chance? Unfortunately it's not on youtube (the record label must have had them all removed) so you'll have to seek out the song yourself to check. --Viennese Waltz 12:32, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, sorry, It isn't it. The song I'm looking for had electric guitar sounds in it. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:00, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Did you check the song out? John Martyn was an electric guitar virtuoso. --TammyMoet (talk) 16:31, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Did you check the song out? There is hardly any electric guitar on it. --Viennese Waltz 18:57, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Viennese Waltz, I checked it, and it's not the song I'm looking for. Oh well, it must be a rare song anyway... Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 21:56, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How about Come home to me from the Washington Square Serenade album by Steve Earle - it is a slow rock/country ballad and sounds like an acoustic electric guitar to me? Not sure if it was used in a hotel advert though. Maybe you can remember what hotel/hotel-chain it was. Astronaut (talk) 13:48, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's not that one either. I can remember clearly it had electric, and not acoustic guitars, it might have been in C major, and its time signature was 6/8. By the way, it was an ad in a local radio station for a local hotel here called Dreaming Forest. I don't think anyone here is from Batangas City, Philippines, so I don't think anyone here could find out what this is. I can remember that it started with something that sounded like "Baby (or Babe), Come home to me, I'm so (I can't remember the rest)", so if anyone can identify this song, that could be a good clue. Perhaps Baby Come On Home by Led Zeppelin? Matt Deres (talk) 22:13, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. It isn't it either. Perhaps, I will never know what that song is... Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:13, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Albert Wistert Football

[edit]

Is Albert Wistert the only player in history to have his number retired by both his college (Michigan) and NFL (Philadelphia) team? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.169.21.1 (talk) 20:09, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm guessing there are several. Dan Marino is one. So is Earl Campbell. -- Mwalcoff (talk) 00:17, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
