In the movie Driving Miss Daisy the 2 main chacaters Miss Dasiy and her caretaker were they just friends?

[edit]

In the movie Driving Miss Daisy the 2 main chacaters Miss Dasiy and her caretaker were they just friends? It seems to be the only movie I know about a straight man and woman being just friends. Venustar84 (talk) 15:49, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think in Desk Set they were just friends as well even though it is called a romantic comedy. In the The African Queen (film) I can't remember if they ever did anything either. There are probably a few more.--Canoe1967 (talk) 17:30, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I took the liberty of fixing your links. Dasiy --> Daisy. -- Jack of Oz [Talk] 22:01, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In neither Desk Set nor The African Queen are the main characters "just friends". In the former, Bunny Watson (Hepburn) breaks up with her longtime boyfriend because of Richard Sumner (Tracy), while in the latter, Charlie Allnut (Bogart) and Rosie Sayer (Hepburn again) get married. Is there anything in the movie that suggests otherwise? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots01:46, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Given that Venustar has promised not to ask us questions it requires psychic powers to answer I won't mention that the intimate details of their passionate love/hate/indifference affair is covered in detail in the secret unpublished backstory treatment that was unwritten for the movie. μηδείς (talk) 01:59, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In Living Color (though it might have been SNL) did have a skit showing the passions that had been hidden under the gentile surface :-) It is probably on YouTube somewhere. MarnetteD | Talk 02:32, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I remember the In Living Color skit. μηδείς (talk) 17:06, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In 84 Charing Cross Road they never even see each other, just write letters and not romantic ones either. Alansplodge (talk) 01:02, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Need Trekker help

[edit]

We have a fair use image in the infobox of Second Chances (Star Trek: The Next Generation). Mae Jemison made a rare guest appearance as the first NASA astronaut to appear in a Star Trek episode or movie (I think). Could someone take a screen shot of her and a Ryker to replace the one we have now? I can upload it if needed and do all the fair use paperwork stuff. We can probably just overwrite the existing image, change the rationale if needed, then have the bot delete the original.--Canoe1967 (talk) 17:23, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Amazon books question

[edit]

Amazon have category list on the things that you can buy. I think there are mistake. My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Volume 2 have the category teens and that not right. The first volume have the children category which is right. The My Little Pony Friendship is Magic comic book series is for all ages not teens 13 and up. My Little Pony Animated Volume which is the cartoon in comic book form and it is also list as teens. The My Little Pony Friendship is Magic cartoon and comic book series are for all ages. The cartoon is rated TV-Y. Adventure Time Volume 1 have teens on it but volume 2 have children on it. Harold and the Purple Crayon have teens on it and that is a children book. There are other children book on the website that did the same thing. Check it for yourself. Why did they do that? Who put those there? How can it be change to the right category?184.20.209.241 (talk) 19:54, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

At the end of the "Product Details" section you should see a link saying "Would you like to update product info?".--Shantavira|feed me 21:04, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I want to know why they did all of those mistakes?184.20.209.241 (talk) 21:30, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We are sorry nut there is no way to know why they made those mistakes. We could speculate or guess but that won't prove anything. You can certainly try to contact them but it is unlikely that they will answer a question like that. MarnetteD | Talk 21:44, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why is it unlikely that they will answer a question like at? They are mistakes.184.20.209.241 (talk) 22:52, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You can contact Amazon by email or phone through their help button. We have no references that will address your wider concern, please contact them. μηδείς (talk) 01:55, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Here's their help page directly linked to. Click on it and then click the orange contact button on the right hand side of the page that opens up. μηδείς (talk) 17:02, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
To clarify MarnetteD answer, it is fairly unlikely Amazon will tell you why they made the mistakes, it will likely be very difficult for them to find why the mistake happened and in any case, they will likely feel it doesn't matter to you. Note that this doesn't mean they won't respond to you pointing out the mistakes, they may correct the mistakes if it reaches the right person and they believe it's a mistake, and may also thank you for informing them and perhaps offer some boilerplate or platitude answer like 'we list a very large volume of books and occasionally errors may arise'.
