March 5

[edit]

I've noticed that NHL players do not have their years listed in the infobox

[edit]

Why do current and former professional athletes from the NFL, MLB, and NBA all have their current and former teams listed in the infobox along side the range of years they played for each team, but NHL players merely have the team names listed? This seems standard for every player I've looked up. Thanks74.135.24.35 (talk) 02:42, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wayne Gretzky, for example, has the teams though not the years. The most active editors on the NHL stuff must have decided to do it that way for whatever reason. If nothing happens here, you could try tracking down a few of the editors and ask them. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots03:42, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's because you didn't add them. Everything at Wikipedia exists here for only one reason. People who care noticed something was missing, and fixed it. Since a) you seem to care and b) you noticed, it is thus your responsibility to fix it. --Jayron32 13:32, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There appears to be a consensus not to include years in the infobox. This question would be better answered at WP:HOCKEY. Hack (talk) 15:03, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
