clear a Netflix score

By a slip of the mouse I gave a rating to a movie on my Netflix DVD list that I have not seen. Is there a way to undo that? —Tamfang (talk) 02:56, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Go to viewing activity (may need to be on a computer at their website, not on a streaming tv, tablet, or phone). Click the X next to the title to delete it from your history. That will delete the rating. 97.82.165.112 (talk) 17:31, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you are quite following. Say the OP hates science fiction movies. But he's now accidentally told the Netflix algorithm that he likes a science fiction movie. As a result, numerous other science fiction movies will now show up in his recommendations. He is trying to prevent that from happening. --Viennese Waltz 11:23, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As stated previously, every time you watch or rate a movie, it is saved to your viewing history. So, if you remove a movie from your viewing history, it removes the rating. That comes straight from Netflix's customer support. Apparently, the person who asked the question doesn't want to look at the viewing history and delete the title of the claim: "I do not expect this title to be in my viewing history." I tested it. I rated a movie I have never watched. I looked at my viewing history. It was top of the list. I deleted the entry in the viewing history. I went back into Netflix and the title came up as unrated by me. So, it works like it is supposed to work if the user can get past the assumption that if you don't completely watch a film, it might actually be in your viewing history. 97.82.165.112 (talk) 23:14, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
