So I've been kind of intrigued by Taylor Swift. No idea about her music or her fandom, but I like the way she dunked on the music studios and movie studios, both of which are despicable institutions. I've seen a few very short video clips from her live shows, and they (again in a good way) reminded me of seeing a circus. I expected her to be shot out of a cannon, or get running tigers to jump through flaming hoops. But the music excerpt left me puzzled, and I'm still scared of her hair color.

Can anyone recommend one or two of her better known songs (e.g. from youtube), preferably with some depth in the songwriting and music, as they reportedly have that? I liked Kate Bush and Blondie if that helps. It's hard for me to think of them as oldies, but here we are. 2601:644:8501:AAF0:0:0:0:1927 (talk) 23:06, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I often get her confused with Debbie Harry. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots23:37, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You might like the NFL game preview videos for the Chiefs games this year. In each video, the announcer makes reference to Taylor Swift, but never says "Taylor Swift." This past week, it was, "Travis is probably feeling a bit glum because he missed Blake Lively's b-day bash." In a previous one, he referred to "No doubt..." then "Don't speak..." and finally stating that "Gwen Stefani" won't be in the stands. A couple weeks ago, he clearly said "Sigh-Ah" was in the crowd a couple times before stating that he is sorry. Every week, he gets a lot of messages that he is using the wrong name. He knows it is "See-Ah". Once I noticed the running joke, I've watched each of the weekly videos just for that one joke. I don't think he's referred to her as Debbie Harry yet... but there are a couple weeks left and they have a reasonable shot at a post-season. 97.82.165.112 (talk) 21:21, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The lead section of our article on Taylor Swift mentions the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me" that catapulted her to mainstream fame, her first Billboard Hot 100 number-one song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and the chart-topping songs "Shake It Off", "Blank Space" and "Bad Blood". I suppose these are all among her better known songs. The articles on these songs contain links to the music videos.  --Lambiam 08:17, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Rob Sheffield actually went through the trouble of ranking all of her 243 songs. See Rolling Stone 's "All 243 of Taylor Swift’s Songs, Ranked". ---Sluzzelin talk 17:06, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
