[edit]What is the painting in the background of Arrangement in Grey and Black No.1?
[edit]The containing work (often called "Portrait of the Artist's Mother" or "Whistler's Mother") is an unusual one in several ways, but what struck me was how prominent another painting is within the composition. Neither the English article nor the Commons file description mention it. Which painting is it and what does it depict? Arlo James Barnes 19:54, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- Apparently it's Black Lion Wharf, though I wouldn't have guessed without being told. HenryFlower 20:35, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
