I need help translating abconterfet (German), from inscription: DIESER HELFANT IST KVMEN GIEN WIEN IN DIE STAT / DA MAN IN BEI SEINEM LEBEN ABKONTERFET HAT. This is from a 1554 medallion, so it might be archaic. —2606:A000:1126:4CA:0:98F2:CFF6:1782 (talk) 17:20, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's a the participle of "abkonterfeien" [1], a verbal derivation from wikt:Konterfei, 'portrait'. The whole sentence can be translated as: "This elephant came to the city of Vienna, where it was drawn from life". Fut.Perf. 17:38, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the prompt reply! —2606:A000:1126:4CA:0:98F2:CFF6:1782 (talk) 17:50, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
