Ausneur

[edit]

The article Marie Crous has a quote which references the "ausneur and toiseur", which are both apparently units of measurement. Toiseur is clearly referring to Toise, however I am unable to find any references to ausneur. Any assistance would be appreciated--Jac16888 Talk 11:25, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If toiseur comes from toise, ausneur must come from aune. Xuxl (talk) 12:19, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Works for me, thanks--Jac16888 Talk 19:10, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Shodd do

[edit]

Got another one I'm struggling to solve: the article Goa liberation movement#1940s has people chanting "Jai Hind!! Dr. Lohiako shodd do! Dr. Julião Menezesko shodd do!" in celebration/support of the two named individuals who had just been arrested. Jai Hind has an article to discuss it's meaning, however I am unable to come up with a meaning for "shodd do". Thanks in advance--Jac16888 Talk 19:56, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

(For anyone confused by not finding the phrase in the article Jac16888 has linked, it was in a lengthy passage removed as a copyright violation a few hours ago by MSG17. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 2.125.73.196 (talk) 05:48, 10 May 2021 (UTC))[reply]
Problem solved then, although if anyone does have a translation I'd still be interested--Jac16888 Talk 15:45, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
