Monty Hall and Deal/No Deal

[edit]

Hi!

Can the result from the Monty Hall problem be applied to the game, Deal or No Deal? I say no, because it is the contestant who picks the suitcases to be revealed not the host.

Am I right, and do I have the right reason?

Thanks!

You are right. The difference is that Monty Hall knew which door had the big prize and he always revealed one that did not have it. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 23:50, 5 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
To avoid confusion: Bubba is talking about the hypothetical Monty Hall in the Monty Hall problem, not the real-life Monty Hall on his game show. --69.159.62.113 (talk) 05:40, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
