Have you checked facebook or her twitter page? MarnetteD|Talk 05:45, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think her twitter or facebook page lists any company. 50.68.237.196 (talk) 17:11, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Question about Jehovah's Witnesses

[edit]

Excuse the apparent banality of the question: can any of you know, a Jehovah's Witness, work in a pastry? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.41.100.198 (talk) 16:39, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, IP user, your question makes no sense. The only thing I can guess you might be asking is whether JH's can work in a bakery. Is that what you mean? (And why do think they might not be able to?) --ColinFine (talk) 22:25, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
They disapprove of birthdays, Christmas, etc., so by extension, I presume they feel their souls could be imperiled by the baking of birthday cakes, Christmas puddings and other iniquitous fare. The horror, the horror. Clarityfiend (talk) 08:14, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think that's a sensible question. I am not saying that they are not able to work on it, we would miss! But it is always a commercial exercise, where usually, you also make cakes for holidays, or not? So, I don't believe in the end, they can work in these stores. Thank you all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.41.100.198 (talk) 08:17, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I found [1] "Thus, Jehovah’s witnesses have long refused to recognize as approved members of the congregation persons who make their living at gambling, or by producing idolatrous objects, or who do work that is directly contrary to the ways of peace described at Isaiah 2:4" so there may be some circumstances where it's frowned upon. But from discussions like [2] [3] and stuff like [4] [5], I gather many Jehovah's witnesses have no problem working in a bakery in general. Nil Einne (talk) 08:47, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Though they might draw the line at what they are asked write on the cake.--Shantavira|feed me 16:24, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Obesity rates and class in Baton Rogue, New Orleands, Shreveport

[edit]

Any statistics on this? Which class in either of these cities has the highest rates of obesity? déhanchements (talk) 20:09, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt if you will find any studies of the relationship between obesity and socioeconomic class in those 3 specific cities. However, such studies exist for the US in general, and presumably would apply to those 3 cities, as well. For example: this one from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
