Since your IP is German, should we read this in the context of Biohackers? The article on the real activity is body hacking, and has many sources confirming that people do this stuff - although it rarely advances beyond subdermal devices, which might arguably be more convenient if not implanted. In the German TV series, the intervention is not by implanted devices but by genome editing, which has medical potential in the form of gene therapy. It is in its infancy, but it is a real thing. --Lambiam 09:00, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
