Why migraine risk factor has applied to being female?[edit]

If X is called a risk factor for condition Y, this means that X has proved to increase the risk for Y. So in this context it means that, on average, women suffer more often from migraine than the average person. It is then logically impossible that men also suffer more from migraine than the average person. --Lambiam 08:03, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How did hippos arrive in Britain during the Eemian period?[edit]

As mentioned here: "The hippopotamus was distributed as far north as the rivers Rhine and Thames". But during the Eemian, sea levels were 6 to 9 meters higher than present. And previously when sea levels were much lower, temperatures in North Western Europe would presumably not have been suitable for hippos. Count Iblis (talk) 14:30, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

According to our article on the English Channel the there was a land link along the Weald-Artois Anticline until the Devensian glaciation, which followed the Eemsian. During and immediately after that the huge lake impounded by the ridge broke through this land bridge. Mikenorton (talk) 15:30, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I do not think so. Weald-Artois Anticline was breached during two events ~450,000 and ~180,000 years ago well before Eemian. Ruslik_Zero
