This is a notable business with many reviews. There are many good citations -Seanusf (talk) 08:04, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

@Seanusf: Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. I will notify users Soulparadox (talk) and Safiel (talk), who proposed it, and who may choose to nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion, which would start a debate lasting seven days to which you would be welcome to contribute. In order to establish Wikipedia:Notability, the article needs references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." JohnCD (talk) 11:54, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
Hello JohnCD (talk), the restoration was requested by someone connected to the company, as can be seen from Seanusf (talk) Talk page, as he tried to write an article on Hopwood in 2009. This may also be his YouTube channel. There are no other significant sources available on the Internet that are independent of the subject—as I explained before, the majority of the ones used in the original article were written by Hopwood himself. I subsequently placed a speedy deletion notice on the page. Regards,--Soulparadox (talk) 01:52, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

  • Not done I'm sorry, but the article was very, very promotional in tone, to the point where the entire article would need to be re-written in order to meet neutrality guidelines. It also doesn't help that the only source that was even remotely usable was this link- the others were all "letters to the editor" that Prasad had written to the Fiji Times. Those cannot be used to assert notability in the slightest, since they were all just letters that Prasad wrote. I also don't see where the awards are so major that they would really give notability per Wikipedia's guidelines, at least not to where those awards would give absolute notability. • Not done I'm very concerned over the tone, as it's not only promotional but it also gives off the impression that it's a copyright violation, as it really reads like you took this from an official website or press release. I can't quite shake this concern to where I'd really restore the article. It also doesn't help that there's a similarly promotional copyvio-esque type blurb for an unrelated person in the same space. I don't have any issue with you making a new AfC article for her, though. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:08, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
  • A further search just showed that the section about the artist Deborah Maron was a copyright violation from this place. This kind of cements my concerns that the section about McCrady was also a copyright violation, so I'm sorry- we cannot restore copyrighted material. Please re-write the article in your own words, in a neutral point of view. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:10, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Done, as a WP:SOFTDELETE, this is similiar to restoration by request after a WP:PROD delete. ~Amatulić (talk) 20:56, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
Also, @Allaboutevetm: None of those sources you list above are sufficient for establishing notability. IMDB isn't, Wikia isn't, Wikipedia isn't, personal Facebook page isn't, directory listings and youtube videos aren't. Please review WP:RS. The article will be deleted again if the sources do not improve. ~Amatulić (talk) 21:02, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
Indeed, Looking at the links you have provided, and referring to the problems in order:
IMDB is not a reliable source; Primary source and not useable for establishing notability; Primary source and not useable for establishing notability; Youtube is not a reliable source; Not a reliable source; Not a reliable source; TVguide = reliable, presumably; Interview, considered a primary source and not useable for establishing notability; Not a reliable source; Not a reliable source; Wikipedia is not a reliable source (x4); ?; Vimeo is not a reliable source; not a reliable source; ?.
Unless you can provide reliable, third party sources that establish notability then the article is very likely to be deleted again. - The Bushranger One ping only 21:48, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Dr. Sai Kumar Ramanujam

Dr. Sai Kumar Ramanujam is a very well known Scientist in India, retired Director of DHM. He has recieved so many awards. He passed away all of a sudden. World should know what a great scientist he was. I can proove is credentials with photographs and Citations that he has recieved from Government of India. He recieved life time achievement award from the Central Minister of India. Please give me a chance to create the page. I can proove all of his credentials. and then click the "Save page" button below -Ramanujamsaipriya (talk) 07:35, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

  • Not done This was deleted per WP:G11 as unambiguous promotion. Using sentences like "He was known as a person with tremedous will-power and dedication" come across as very promotional or at the very least, they are so casually written that this article would have to be completely re-written in order to meet the neutral point of view guidelines. He does appear to be notable, so there's no reason as to why you cannot create a new article. I'd suggest that since you are fairly new at editing, that you create it in your userspace or in the draftspace at User:Ramanujamsaipriya/Sai Kumar Ramanujam. I would also heavily recommend that you join our India WikiProject (WP:INDIA), as they can help you with finding (and judging) sources and basic editing. I especially recommend seeking their help with sources as you'd have to ensure that you have sources that are independent of Ramanujam himself and are in reliable places. The issue with sources that originated in India is that many English language search engines do not properly display results, so people like myself might not be able to immediately find search results unless we know how to manipulate Google to display better results. The people at WP:INDIA usually have specific ways to search for results that can be pretty beneficial. They won't do all of the work for you, but they can be very helpful. You do seem to be proficient in English, but this does not appear to be your first language and I'd like for you to have access to people who would potentially speak/read/write in your native language in case there are things requiring more explanation. I don't see where this would be a huge issue, but I always like for people to know that this is an option. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:01, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

The article is deleted per G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion and G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of http://www.adanja-polak.com/en/homepage/. (ec) It most certainly was promotional, using unsourced and subjective puffery such as "internationally recognized", "exclusive", "famous", "world recognition", "prestigious", etc. Also, we don't restore copyright-infringing content. You would have to re-write this from scratch... and if you have any association whatsoever with the subject, use Wikipedia:Articles for creation instead of writing it in main article space. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:13, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

Talk:List of largest known nebulae/workpage

It is a workpage, not appropriate for G2 test deletion, as it is a place to gather data before placing it into the main article. It was properly marked with the {{workpage}} template, and was properly linked to from the main talk page, so was not orphaned. It was considerably less than 1-year old, so cannot be considered inactive. The associated article is under discussion at WT:AST, as needing work, so not having a workpage is not convenient. -67.70.35.44 (talk) 05:59, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

  • Comment: This suffered from the same issues as the one below. It only had the information "Nebula illuminated by quasar UM287 - 460 kiloparsecs (1.5 Mly) - (2005) [1][2][3]" and it was left pretty much like that until the following day, when someone nominated it for deletion. It may not have been inactive per se, but I can see where it was tagged as a test page. I'm not against restoring it, but I do have to echo my concerns in the below section that subpages are usually quickly made and quickly forgotten in many instances. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:21, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
  • It wasn't lost in the mix, since I linked to it from the main talk page, thus clearly linked to, and nor orphaned. WP:AFC is the incorrect process to use since List of largest known nebulae exists, and AFC is for articles that do not exist. It was meant to organize more than just my contributions, as the article was already being discussed at the WikiProject. I was going to work on it intermittantly, so when I entered the pagename to work on it, I found it deleted. If the subpage location cannot be used, can DRAFT-namespace be used for this purpose? (though it isn't a draft, it's a workspace; but I have noticed some registered users using DRAFT for just that purpose, as a workspace, and others as a draft-holding space for replacing current articles with newer revisions) Talk subpages already exist for edit histories, talk archives, nomination pages, etc, so it would seem to be the proper location to place such content. -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 05:30, 23 November 2014 (UTC)

  • Comment: There really isn't anything to restore. The only usable content was the phrase "The largest should be the angular size of the night sky phenomenon, the Milky Way (ie. river of stars)". Other than that, it was just a group of headings and subheadings. Besides that, I would really recommend that you create an account and make any workspace edits in your userspace. If you do not want to sign up for an account then WP:AfC is always an option. What I think hurt the workpage is that you made a few edits on November 9th, but then essentially left it as a one sentence stub. It was marked for deletion the following day and wasn't deleted for a few hours. My big thing is that I know that subpages are sort of discouraged nowadays because many people don't know that they exist and they're pretty easily forgotten/abandoned. It's not that I don't want to restore it, but just that I can see where it was deleted as a test page: there was only one sentence on the page and other than a few initial edits, there hadn't been any other edits to the page for at least a day. That's kind of par for the course. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:18, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
  • It wasn't lost in the mix, since I linked to it from the main talk page, thus clearly linked to, and nor orphaned. WP:AFC is the incorrect process to use since List of largest known galaxies exists, and AFC is for articles that do not exist. I've been asking for Skyflubber (talk · contribs) to post his (I expect. unorganized) list of some 300 galaxies that he says he found that are larger than the smaller entries on the current list, so there should be somewhere to place them while rewriting them into a proper table format, prior to adding it to the current table, without needing unformatted entries to be added, and potentially hundreds of edits to format each entry on a live article page. So it was meant to organize more than just my contributions, as the article was already being discussed at the WikiProject. I was going to work on it intermittantly, so when I entered the pagename to work on it, I found it deleted. If the subpage location cannot be used, can DRAFT-namespace be used for this purpose? • Not done I reviewed the material and it really comes across as fairly promotional in tone. It also kind of gives off the impression that it was taken from a press release or official website of some sort. You can feel free to write a new article, but I do have to say that I'm also somewhat uncertain that this topic (a specific system) is really all that notable. When I was looking to see if I could find any potential copyvio I noticed that there aren't any sources out there for this at all. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 23:28, 23 November 2014 (UTC)

Joeseph Duffy fights in Cage Warriors, a top level MMA promotion. He had a 3 year professional boxing career with 7 wins and is now back in MMA with 2 wins since his return. He has fought in the UFC's Ultimate Fighter and has notable wins over two UFC fighters Conor McGregor and Norman Parke. Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joseph Duffy (fighter), it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Joe Decker (talk · contribs). Article deleted to cover up sex scandals, proof of scandals is here - http://unpleasantmyles.tumblr.com/post/79455706244/tom-milsom-hexachordal-heres-the-post-olga -86.159.196.238 (talk) 23:56, 24 November 2014 (UTC)

  • I'm mighty tempted to decline this myself, but as I am somewhat involved with the page's deletion I'll refrain. What I can say is that the page was a huge WP:BLP violation. You can see some of the rationales for its removal here, here, and here. Its deletion had nothing to do with "covering up sex scandals" and was ultimately done because of potential legal issues. Wikipedia is WP:NOT the right place for stuff like this- we're not a soapbox for either side. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:50, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
  • Another thing to note is that many of the people listed on the page did their alleged acts off camera. Some made videos about it but others did not, so saying that it's specifically a YouTube sex scandal is kind of erroneous because the actions didn't occur on YouTube, they happened off YouTube. Basically, YouTube could come on and say that because of this specific element, tagging these as a YouTube sex scandal (which implies that YouTube was heavily involved) could be a BLP issue. The people on the list did get famous via YouTube, but that in and of itself doesn't mean that tagging these as a YouTube sex scandal is correct. The thing is, you've got to be careful about creating pages like this because of the potential legal issues and harm that it could cause on both sides. Again, Wikipedia isn't a place to use as a post board to keep track of every sleazeball that took advantage of their fame. Not only were most of the people on the page non-notable per Wikipedia's guidelines (meaning that they didn't have a page at all), but at least one of them didn't have an individual page at all and from what I remember of the page, the various allegations were covered on their page. We're not really trying to cover anything up- we just want to make sure that everything is covered in a way that wouldn't result in a policy violation. • @MaynardClark: I looked at the redirect and I can't see where there was ever an article. It looks like it'd always been a redirect to Zelen's design. Usually there's some sort of trace left behind in either the redirect or the main article, but I can't find any in this instance. However there's no reason why you can't make a new article for him, if he is notable for more than this one design. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:59, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

polygyny

We added a significant amount of information to the Polygyny page, which was polygyny in animals. We received a message that one of our images was not copyrighted and intend to fix it. We need the deleted material to be put back, so that we can replace the un-copyrighted image with a copyrighted one. -Bio267 (talk) 02:33, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

  • @Bio267: There was nothing deleted from the page itself- there's no deleted history or anything that you couldn't restore by reverting a history. The only thing that I've seen that was deleted was the image File:Gorilla Harem.jpg, which was deleted due to a lack of licensing information. What this means is that when you uploaded it you didn't state if the image was yours, where it came from, or so on. Please understand that copyright does extend to photos and that you must have permission to upload the photograph to Wikipedia. This means that the photo must have some sort of creative commons licensing, be something of your own creation, or be something that could be argued as fair use. As far as replacing the image goes, there's no reason why you can't just re-upload the image and fill out the appropriate licensing information in the upload wizard. But again, make sure that your image falls within the acceptable use guidelines for Wikipedia! Even if you do credit the photo to the artist, if the image is not considered to be fair use or is in the CC, the image will still be deleted. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:46, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
  • (ec) @Bio267: Are you sure you know what you're asking? If you own the copyright, you need to contact OTRS with a declaration of permission to distribute with an acceptable free license, and that permission should be sent from a verifiable address belonging to the copyright holder. See WP:CONSENT for details.

Hi,

I do not understand why my page was deleted. I was using it to show and give users reading material. I have a lot of people that would like to know more about my work and I found Wikipedia is the right place for them to view my assets. I was not using it for promotional use. If you reaad the article you can see that I am very notable for this page. If consider restoring my page.

Thank you.

Kind regards, Mohammed Rayhan

Not done. No, Wikipedia isn't "the right place" for people to "view your assets". Wikipedia is not a free web host for you to publish about yourself. Please use your own website for that, and you might want to read Wikipedia:Autobiography and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest before you argue further.
The article was quite evident that you were using Wikipedia for self-promotion and publicity. The article was deleted in accordance with WP:CSD#A7 and WP:CSD#G11, making it ineligible for restoration by request. Please talk to the deleting administrator Yunshui. If Yunshui declines to restore it, you may take your case to Wikipedia:Deletion review. ~Amatulić (talk)

Notability is established by National team selection and as a First Division player. Subject was scouted by Barcelona FC and FC Roma, two of the world's most famous football clubs and signed by Fulham FC on a $1m transfer. • @GinEgWu: @Tokyogirl79: Respectively: 1) I didn't read the notability issue like that, I read it from a bio perspective, from which deletion makes more sense, 2) Its called speedy deletion for a reason, and the speedy deletion subcategory pages do not distinguish when things were added, only that they were added. Pages have been know to be deleted with seconds of templates being applied, and 3) I don't mind undeletion, as it says on my user page (and I quote) "I realize that I am only human, and therefore I will inevitably make a mistake or two in exercising administrative privileges on Wikipedia. In light of this, I invite my fellow administrators to fix any mistake I make here on Wikipedia. I will not consider it wheel-warring if you reverse my admin actions as long as you leave me a civil note telling me what you've done and why and as long as you're open to discussion with me should I disagree. I seek to learn from my mistakes, but learning can only be accomplished if both parties in a disagreement over a course of action are willing to talk to each other in a civil manner." - TomStar81 (Talk) 10:22, 26 November 2014 (UTC)
